Volume 8 NEWSLETTER October 2002

Welcome Cruizers! The weather is cooling down and we are ready for some great Cruizin Fun. October 12th is our next official Cruize Nite at What A Burger!
We are putting up flyers around town to invite all those classic car buffs to come out and get acquainted with our members. October has been pretty busy with the Wings & Wheels Air & Car Show on October 5th & 6th. We will be setting a Cruize Schedule for the rest of the year on October 12th. Make sure you are there!
We are in full swing for our Halloween "Trick or Treat" Project. We never received an answer from Safeway, so we approached WhatABurger Jason and Ruth were thrilled to partner with our Club. We also now have Jeff VanHorn from Wal-Mart on board with us. Chuck Olsen and Gene Stafford are now talking to the rest of the businesses in the Wal-Mart complex to gather more support for our Halloween Project.
KHITS Radio of Maddog wireless is on board with us to provide us some PSA radio time. We will also be sending out a Press Release to all the media outlets.
We plan on printing up a large amount of flyers to distribute to all the schools, so we realistically could have 1500 + kids and parents.
Gene Stafford is providing his large PA system so we can blast some Oldies, Halloween classic tunes and some really scary Halloween effects.
The name for our Project is "What A Halloween Bash" so far we are having two activities besides the "Trick or Treat" We are having a Costume Contest broken down into age groups and a Pumpkin Judging Contest. We will also have Best Costume and Best Pumpkin. Hopefully we will be able to have donated some $50.00 savings bonds for the "Best Costume" and "Best Pumpkin"
We also have invited Kingman Police Department to bring down "Jingles" their Classic Patrol car as well as the D.A.R.E. officers from the schools.
We are going to need 100% percent participation to help out plus to show off our Cars.
As of Friday October 4th we have on board with our Project: WhatABurger, Wal-Mart, Taco Bell, Dominos Pizza, Cinemark Theater, Cerbat Lanes, West Coast Netting and Mohave County Sheriff's D.A.R.E. Officers and their DARE Car. We have more that are interested and we are just waiting to hear back from them.

BBQ at Fireman’s Park
If hanging out a the car show was not enough, We packed in our supplies the following Sunday for a Great BBQ. It gave Gene a chance to catch up on taking pictures of everyone’s cars for the Web Site. It was a nice relaxing day hangin out, listening to tunes, playing HorseShoes and swapping stories. Thanks to Mark Zimmer for dedicating himself to stay home and watch the Race to give us all a complete recount when he showed up late!

We could have stayed the week. We had enough supplies for even the winter!

Todd of Course showed up with the best looking steak any of us have seen for awhile.
But we all got by with our subs, hot dogs and good old hamburgers.

Do you think something may be draining your battery while sitting in the Garage? An easy way to see if there is a small current draw. Unhook your positive cable, darken the garage and touch the cable to the post. If you see small sparks while rubbing the cable against the post, then something is robbing current. Keep in mind even the hot memory wire to the stereo can make a small spark.
