we still sometimes go to the park on sundays but won't regularly till spring.  I'll start a new blog and post the link.

Happy Birthday Bina! It will be another gorgeous day today in Missouri. I am thankful to have a fast public computer here, and I can surf around the other ones in town to tutor my students. We'll get birthday supplies and visit playgrounds. Should I fly a sign? I will contemplate. The wiperwills are doing their spring ritual in the dusk and dawn, and there are springs, racoons, an old foundation with the chimney and mantle still intact, clothes drying on the line, sore muscles and a healthily hungry gut, Glenn better at bicycling every day, Sabina saying 4 syllable words and phrases in her sentences, and praises in her prayers. Loving you all please write!

The weather is just not cooperating for our solar ovens. Wettest it's been in 35 years. The trip still goes well as we pick up another rider in Durango, CO. From here we go to Taos tomorrow. We are going to run from these rains as much as we can! My little beanie baby is talking so much, and learning how to show off her conversations skills. Her brother is learning magic tricks, and enjoying meeting new people. I finally go all the latest crap off the computer and it is running well again, even after I tripped over the cord and sent it flying. I am tutoring right now. Very pressing on my mind is funds. I am desperately needing to be at a Hot Spot when the sub jobs come in so I can grab some and earn more. With spring and summer come the end of many of my scheduled students, and it looks like another summer of little work. Another ohm to find work & green! The last one worked to find Phil, as he is settling down with Soda. It was good to see them again. I am with a student now, so I am off to pay attention to him.
4/23/05 Made it to Cortez. The Hot Springs were so lovely, I did not take the time away from them to update. Here, the weather sucks. But, the people are kind who travel with us and the National Park should be fun. Seriously thinking of cutting back around to the good weather if I wimp out of "scattered thunderstorms" that turn into cold, wet, ice, snow, gray, looming etc. that it has been in the short time here. Phiiiiilllll! Sooooddaaaa! Ohhhm. (A little manifestation to find our friends. Maybe they have a house ;-)) Anyway, there is a bit of a line to use the internet so I'll sign off, loving you. B

I'm on the road! at a truck stop with free internet service in Beaver, UT. It's night now, so soon we'll have to find a place to camp. Hopefully we can avoid too much snow on the ground, and head only in the opposite direction. I love the feeling of being on the road again, heading for where the spirit takes us. My boy was practicing his I love yous and my girl was replying with her eeews. It's a smooth ride so far, 3 hours into a 100 hour journey across to nationals.

Last update was what a day at the park and this one is as well. But the news is grim instead of happy: a kid was stabbed for why we know not but it happened near the drum circle, and the kid ended up dying right by Bob and the kitchen. Myself and the kids were far enough away in the park that we saw nothing but a crime scene cordoned off as we returned. My heart immediately leaped about looking for my husband, then his voice calling food was sure music to my ears. He had the presence of mind to immediately relocate the kitchen to let medics, who were on the scene very quickly, and police, who came a whole six minutes later, do their job. This settles our departure date. We aren't going back north for a while-- very soon we go south and east. You can never be assured safety anywhere outside living in a basement, but I was gifted with a sense that the Spirit kept me and my kids out of the scene and the horrific sight of a human bleeding his life out into the ground. Many beautiful people were brought to tears and anguish yesterday, and my heart goes out to them. It's time to get to work.

What a day at the park yesterday. There was tightrope walking, fire hula dancing, and a family troupe of amateur acrobats. Oh, and a drum circle of course! Pictures should be up soon at the hip forums. You can check out the gallery link everyone has at the bottom of their posts.

Hee Hee. Update coming in after the weekend-- but what a weekend! Yuba Lake had all of 3 people camping in it, so we were going to go to Goblin Valley, but missed the turn and couldn't figure out roaming on the air card. So pushed through to Moab. Must be getting old, because that was a definite push for us, instead of a romp it might have been when younger. So we camped on the "rocks" that so abound. In town Saturday, looking for something to do. Flyer unobtrusively poking out in Visitor's Center reminds us it's the anniversary of invading Iraq, and Moab is holding a peace rally!!! Score for the kitchen-- we decide to do hot beverages for peace and Bob sets up his thing, talks to everyone who walks by. The ultimate rainbow is of course finding a couple who camps with us, rainbow rapping to interested folks who will try to make find the rainbow, or find it again. Older brother casually says he was at the first and wonders at my excitement. "You were at the first!!!" Man, I'm jealous. Live it truly for me, did you escape the '80s? Must have, holding a peace rally. :) Much love, many blessings. In a holding pattern again, will be doing the kitchen at SLC next 2 Sundays then heading to a 4/20 gathering.

I'm on the internet in the van. Finally. Now it's time to let go, give into the spirit. Planning kind of goes out the window but blessings abound. Found great hardwood scrap in the Industrial district of town; going to take it to TMobile covered Yuba Lake south of Nephi. Leaving soon, and will have updates all weekend. Love everybody!! (Beanie Baby in background, "eew. Love You. eew.)

We're using our own solar oven to cook for the first time tomorrow at the park! I hope it's a nice day, and not too windy. Otherwise, besides computers crashing not much new going on here. Packing. Planning.

2/24/05

More planning for me! I've finally reconciled with my Virgo, I'm not very neat but I'm organized. Perfect for the woodsy lifestyle! I'm acquired tarps and am settling on a mobile internet platform. I think the cell service with unlimited data trasfer time is best. No voice or phone unless I get VOIP and a headset. Not worried now, because it's fitting with our plans. Bob's helping a friend set up his landscaping contracts for the spring/summer and I'm building up a mobile bookshelf. I hope to use it as a backwoods bookstore with an Amazon prescence. And a rainbow free side so whoever is travelling with us can read the books until they sell. And have a piece of the business if they can acquire books that will sell.  Really the internet connection on the road should be able to help anyone who travels with us. And help make us funds to keep it going as a kitchen and family. Yeehaw!

2/22/05

Lots of preparation, packing, planning, alliterating. Almost done with the solar oven of mine, but feeling so what's the point about it lately with the rain, snow, wind and fleeting moments of sun.
I'm debating on using my time to actually search the net for reference to the 1991 Yes tour. That summer, I went with my sister and we can't really remember if Bad Company opened. I think they did, but all memories bow out to the running the stage and touching the lead singers' hand. Dang, should search for that, too. Way busy, I have started a course on the internet for installing satellite dishes, wondering, could I really cart a satellite dish around with me all summer. I am glad I'm here in Utah for a while yet and can spend time planning other things.
So far off freecycle I've gotten buckets some mysterious stranger dropped off at my house (how did they find out my address? I'll fantasize that it's Malcolm J o w e r s:) Freecycle has also kicked food, a CD to fix a laptop, and a food dehydrator (will work really well in conjunction with the solar oven) Plus, I've gotten rid of stuff so there's room to maneuver. Maybe I should plan on moving out there parked outside the house if it starts getting Utah nice again. I LOVE CAMPING

Here's a link to the books I'm selling on Amazon-- in case you want a good book cheap or to support the kitchen! http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/customer-open-marketplace-items/A14VYLIXRF0KVO/ref=fb_comi_spgl/102-7668138-9455365

Getting hooked into all these interconnected websites that will be essential for the kitchen's success on the road. Freecycle will be a great place to hook into solar stuff (did I say that here?) but also scored Bob n me Jazz tickets so we had a night out. We could have a trailerfull of stuff just from what's gone through just Utah County in Utah there in a week. And there are freecycle communities in most counties, so imagine all the love and good feelings in the USA!!!

Almost done with this initial website.  For now, this is certainly enough but eventually I hope we'll need more space and can afford to have an ad-free site.
Right now I am shopping for a trailer, shopping for mobile internet deals (and that is not figgin' easy) and building virtual kitchens and solar ovens.  Our kids are 5 and 2, so it is a fun and educational project for them, too.

As an internet tutor, I have a unique platform to think about homeschooling while on the road, and this is something gearing up for this road trip.  Although  Bob and I have pretty much been all over the country together, this is going to be a leap!!!!

I'm glad we have a cozy apartment in my in-laws place to winter in while all this comes together. Living on the grid even for the winter presents obstacles to a life of freedom and change.  Every month we contribute to the same bills, perform the same routine and watch the same local news. I am ready to go!!!!!! And I'm not dropping out, but building bridges--- but more on that in Bob and my "building bridges" link
My boy took this picture and made it techno!
