Everybody knows how difficult it is to fill out all the numerous forms for benefits, housing and
even getting a bank account whilst living on the street can be near enough impossible.
Now this where we could all use a helping hand.
There is one service that is tailormade for us Homeless, the DAY CENTRES.
Most Day Centres have got a benefits advisor in house who can
help You with all the creepy forms that You have to fill in to be able to get any kind of benefits.
They can help You to get Birth Certificates and ID , some
Day Centres have even got ways of arranging Bank Accounts for Roughsleepers.
So get down to Your local Day-
Centre and ask staff for an appointment with the benefits advisor and You're laughing.
Click on Day Centres in the links to find one that is local to You.
Day Centres are good for a variety of things but one thing in particular,
finding us somewhere to live, a HOME of our own.
A lot of the Day Centres are linked to a larger organisation which normally
provides Housing advice, some even have their own Resettlement program.
If You can't get anywhere with Your local C.A.T -worker or maybe You can't get a C.A.T-worker, then we suggest that You go to Your local Day-
Centre and ask for an appointment with the Housing Advisor or the Resettlement worker.
If You are unlucky in one Day Centre then try an other one.
But remeber, Rome wasn't built in a Day, the same goes for finding housing in London, it's a slow and labourious process.
For a Day Centre that is local to You, Check out the links above.
Your local Day Centre can also advice You on how to get a hostel placement, some Day Centres, or the organisation behind them, even run their own Hostels.
Ones again, ask to speak to the Housing Advisor or Resettlement Worker and ask them for help in finding You a Hostel placement, then again You might be lucky in getting it all sorted out thru Your C.A.T worker.
More about C.A.T's in the links on the bottom of this page.

What ever option You are going for, AFORS whishes You ;" Best Of Luck! "
