REWARD CHALLENGE: "FOOD PLEASE!"
The tribes recieved mail about an interesting Reward Challenge that would take place anywhere they wanted. Their job is to gather poker chips from random people in the city that are walking in the streets. The tribes will not know who these people are, but they must gather more attention than the other tribe. Once one of the "judges" walked by both tribes and decided on a winner, they will return to the corner in which they are standing and drop the poker chip into the jar. The tribe that recieves the most chips in their jar will win the reward of personal entertainment items, in which wasn't specified. Upon recieving the mail, Bronx decided that the first thing they should do was to find a busy street corner that was yet open enough that they wouldn't get trampled by pedestrians. At the Queens, their method was more on the home front. Because they constantly see people walk by (who by rulings can't be talked to unless at a challenge) their lot, they decided to stay at camp and try their hand there. After making a few wise cracks at the statement "personal entertainment items", a quick and painful blow to Naomi's pride by Roy, Leigh and Carol of Queens thought together of creative and helpful ways to get money into that jar. They debated on possibly holding a sign, but they feared the Bronx would do something better, so that idea was scrapped. Back at the Bronx Tribe, they found a street corner and were holding a cardboard sign that says "Bronx is Best!" and laid down the jar. Their sign gathered some attention. Still gathering ideas, Adam from Queens suggested using his salesman skills to attract people and make them give up their poker chips. Queens thought that it would be to their advantage to use Adam as their selling point. Feeling that just holding a sign wasn't enough, Jerroth of Bronx decided to break into a freestyle rap. Almost instantly, people with poker chips placed them in the jar. Back with Queens, Leigh, Carol, and Robin held up a sign and tried to get attention to Adam as he worked his magic on those who passed by. He perfomed physical comedy, told jokes, and told stories of camp life and got many laughs and smiles. He got a few chips in the jar when he promised that he'd eat a shoe if anyone would put poker chips into the jar. As he saw a few chips get put into the jar, he grabbed a shoe from the trashcan and bit into it. It didn't go down, but people laughed and applauded his efforts. Still getting chips into the jar, Bronx's rap was changed from a solo to a duet as Danielle P. began to bust a rhyme and work the crowd a little bit. With great applause, the showstopping Bronx Tribe had a mystery woman come up and hand them a card. On it in big letters it said, "Time's up! Bring jar to Central Park." They bowed and took more applause as they grabbed the jar and made their way to Central Park. Back at Queens, Adam made another daredevil deal to a rapidly growing crowd. He promised that if anyone holding poker chips would place thier chips into the jar, he will dive head first into a trash can. With the sound of laughter came the sounds of chips clinking in the glass jar. Adam took a few steps back and got the crowd worked up as he sprinted and football tackled the trashcan. He got great applause as Robin, who was holding the jar recieved the "Time's up" card. Feeling confident of their effort, they thanked the crowd and walked to Central Park. At Central Park, both tribes handed Nick the jars. Before tallying up the chips, he congratulated each tribe for doing a phenominal job on entertaining the people of New York. The tallies were now in. The winners with a chip count of 56 to 44 was...the Bronx Tribe. They screamed and celebrated leaving a very dissapointed Queens tribe to walk back to camp empty handed. Nick told Bronx that the entertainment items would be delivered to their camp the next morning, so they were dismissed and walked off." |
