Unlike most Red Hat Society groups, the Rouge Hues was founded by a Pink Hatter. The Princess-in-Charge has figuratively been wearing purple with a red hat that doesn't suit for quite some time and wanted to share the joy..
The name, "The Divine Order of Rouge Hues," was chosen for several reasons:
First, the Princess-in-Charge often refers to herself as a goddess and therefore should be a part of a group that is nothing less than Divine.
Second, the intention is to be a multi-age group spanning hues from pink (those under 50 years of age) to red (those who have reached or surpassed the revered 50th).
While the listed location for the group is Severn, Maryland, The Divine Order also prides itself on not discrimating based on zip code.
