five fingers
One finger,
I pull back from your hand,
The winds flowing over the cliff edge,
as I stare into your eyes,
I dont know if I can hold on.
I ease my hand,
into your palm,
trying to keep you here.
The fear in your eyes,
glowing wider,
wishing you were in my place.
the second finger, slips again,
a single tear rolls down my cheek
It tickles my cheek,
I darent wipe it,
I might let you go.
The coldness now filling your fingers,
now drowning the heat in mine.
Third finger now, and Im weeping,
wishing I hadnt pushed you further
walked you to the edge.
Wishing it was me down there,
Shattering my heart.
my fourth finger,
Im saying goodbye,
both now dying inside,
the teardrops full of pain,
full of sorrow.
Fith finger, and I jump,
flying through the air.
I take your hand once more,
diving into the rivers below
the frozen depths now consuming
now eating all our anger
our agony
and pain.
We saved each other,
but we ended everything.
