Deeper and deeper
the pain travels
racing through my blood
like the underground trains
rushing towards the station.
Reaching its destination
deep
inside my heart
Now drilling into my soul
and hammering away
at my thoughts.
Not a single tear
or a single drop of blood
contained half as much
pain, or
hatred
as every molecule of
my body feels for you.
And the sorrow
still flutters
like a dying butterfly
upon the summer breeze.
How I trusted the depth
or your lies,
and how I loved the regret
of the mask over my eyes,
Now I taste the bitterness
of every thought I ever felt,
Now I smell the burnt flesh,
from my soul
that you chewed up
and spat out to the dogs.
