I saw this film opening week and don't believe I have seen a better superhero movie.  Tobey Maguire is a lot easier to believe as the confused and struggling super-hero teenager with problems that he can't comprehend.  Kirsten Dunst is wonderful as the lover that doesn't understand anything, and James Franco isn't bad, but isn't good as the revenge bound friend with real issues.
Sam Raimi the dark cult director has proven his worth to the world by dishing out a worthy sequel to his 2002 prance into the world of super-heroes.  Raimi adds a mix of excitement and fun as well as comedy in the form of an oriental lady pizzicatoing her violin as she sings the original Spider-man theme.
Doc Ock as he is known played by Alfred Molina is literally a scary villain and one worth the time of movie goers.  Alfred Molina adds a mix of exctiement, comedy, and danger that finshes off this film.
The makers could literally stop now and we wouldn't mind because unlike some super-hero movies we at least have two that would stand alone and work and can be refered to as actual super-hero movies.
Sam Raimi succeeds just as Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst  succeed in their acting.  This is an actual film.  I'm anxiously awaiting the third installment.
