Best Original Score
#1)
The Chronicles of Narnia:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Harry Gregson-Williams
Gregson-Williams score may be the best of the entire year.  The themes, especially the 'Heroic Theme' are moving and powerful and just downright superb.  He channels Kingdom of Heaven and yet outdoes it with the best score of 2005.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
#2)
Patrick Doyle
The fact of the matter is this is probably going to be either the second or third best score of the year.  Patrick Doyle's themes and cues are certainly big and quiet when they need to be and they not only fit perfectly on the film, but are incredible fun and excitement when listening to them on their own.
King Kong
#5)
James Newton-Howard
I have an emormous amount of faith in James Newton Howard who did a wonderful job with Batman Begins.  Based upon the few clips and cues I've heard from the Post-Production Diaries I think that we may have one of the better 2005 scores on our hands.
#4) Memoirs of a Geisha
John Williams
The score turned out to be a little less emotional as I had originally thought it might be, but it is still incredibly emotional and enjoyable.  The Japanese instruments featured in it are used well and the final track is marvelous.  Sayuri's Theme is one of John Williams' best.
Munich
#3)
John Williams
John Williams always scores something good when working with Steve Speilberg, and most likely gets a nom.  Even though War of the Worlds was a little less than I expected, it's still good and so I'm expecting something wonderful from here.
