This surely is 1993 reincarnate.  Ivory and Spielberg both nominated as far as I'm concerned and just the fact that they seem to be returning to their original form.  There once was a time where James Ivory was nominated quite a bit, but the nineties left and now all he has is this one film left.  Heres to fingers crossed. James Ivory-The White Countess

Many may call me stupid, but Peter Jackson is rising in the film business and sure the chances of winning are slim to none especially after three Oscars in one night, but I do feel that a nom is likely.  Jackson has a vision that reminds me a lot of a young Steve Spielberg and so I think the Academy is recognizing that and a nom is plausible. Malick is, in my opinion, one of the few smart directors out there and the fact that he has so few nominations and no wins just strikes me as both odd and injustice.  Malick can churn out a masterpiece per decade and has only been nominated for one of them.  He's ripe for a return here and the win seems in his favor.  Watch out for Ridley Scott though. Terrence Malick-The New World

#3) Rob Marshall, did something stunning with Chicago and well I just hope Memoirs is as good as I'm predicting.  It should be with the A-listers of Asia and a few from America, and a crew that is certainly friendly with awards, and producers, such as fellow contendor Spielberg, but you never can tell.  Rob Marshall-Memoirs of a Geisha

Steve's ripe for a return to the top of the Oscar pile of which I believe he never left.  He has three Oscar's already, but I feel that he should have more and with a year reminiscent of his Oscar winning year, I feel he has a shot.  Also considering it is over ten years ago that he won.  He's got it in him to make a profound and moving film and Munich seems worthy. Steven Spielberg-Munich
