| The stars of film piled up and were able to give us some of the best supporting roles this year. From Tim Robbins fragile sexually molested childhood and his coping with it in his own mind, to the complete opposite performance of Ken Wattanabe as a samurai warrior trying to protect his life. Here are the nominees and winner for Best Supporting Actor. Tim Robbins for playing a psychologically fragile man who borders on insanity and is the perfect criminal. To Benicio del Toro as an ex-con who competes with himself. To Ken Wattanabe, a Japanese Samurai warrior protecting his way of life. As well as Djimon Hounsou as an AID's infected African American who befriends Irish immigrants, and Alec Baldwin, a Casino owner who is closely watching his "cooler" who needs a friend. Tim Robbins won in a film that was as traditional as his character. Robbins made us feel for Dave and portrayed a criminal murderer with so much conviction. He is the winner of the 76th Annual Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
