    During the months of November and December, 2008, our Rotating Exhibit display at the Frontier Country Museum in Crescent, Oklahoma will present the Western Art of Bethel Hackett of Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

      Bethel Hackett grew up at Geary, OK. Bethel and her husband, Harland, have lived the last 30 years in Kingfisher, OK.

      They raised three children and owned a western a western store during that time. They retired in 2007, giving Bethel more time to paint and draw.

      She has studied under Judy Payne, Robert Faust, Shirley Gibbons and Dennis Parker. She has exhibited her work throughout Oklahoma.

      Bethel does commissions and has donated works to benefit the fund raising efforts of children's homes.

      Her favorite subject matter is animals. She also enjoys painting still lifes. Pencil portraits of people are also one of her favorite mediums.

      The Frontier Country Museum is located at 500 N. Grand, at the junction of S.H. 74 and 74-C, in Crescent, Oklahoma.
