If you have a comment or need more information about the list provided above, do not hesitate to write to us or e-mail us at the Contact listed in the main English page or Click Here.

A full detailed budget for each of the projects has been or it’s being prepared and will be available for anyone upon request, and the respective photographs will be attached.  The Department of Colon is one of the most abandoned areas by government agencies and the vast majority of development activities are made through the cooperation of friendly countries or international organizations, such as Rotary, and other NG-agencies.

There is also another type of needs not listed here for obvious reasons.  Local governments of the Rio Aguan Valley region are very well intended to carry out some of their major infrastructure projects with international assistance or low interest-long term loans.  Without any external funding they would not be capable of fulfilling most of these projects due to the low rates people pay in taxes or in some cases, because people do not have to pay even municipal taxes in order to have a required amount in full for one of their projects.  Some of these projects are:

  1. sewage systems for urban and rural communities,
  2. water and water treatment systems for urban centers,
  3. hydroelectric power generation,
  4. solar power generation,
  5. telecommunication centers for mountain villages,
  6. waste treatment systems,
  7. acquisition of waste dump truck and related equipment,
  8. urban and rural low-cost housing development,
  9. street and road development (paving), etc.

We have mentioned these projects as part of our close cooperation with local authorities, and as members of their communities, we are as well interested in making any type of contact for them in order to search for new sources of funding for their planned projects.  For detailed information about this segment of our webpage, please contact us and mention you want to contact a local or municipal government in Colon.
