Hello Everyone,
Here I bring you another tradition from the Dominican Republic. This is a common sandwich you can get while walking the streets or in carnavals like in this picture. Actually they are very good if you like the ingrediants. It consists of salami from down there which is very tasty and comes in many variaties, at very low price. Fried salami is used in many dishes in the DR and can be bought by ounces or a "whole leg" as they call it which can have about 2 pounds. The cabbage is shredded and seasoned with a bit of oil and sour oranges and salt. Sometimes the cabbage might be softened in hot water. In addition they could have ham, cheese or fried eggs to garnish it with. Also they have ketcup and mayonaise if you want to add. As you can see there is a bottle of beer on the table. This is something I really enjoyed about that country, you can have your bottle of beer almost any where and any time over there. It is sold almost on every corner store. That way you can cool off in any moment and enjoy a nice cold beer.
Well that all folks for today. Don't miss out on the oncoming blogs .
