Max walked slowly outside with the cordless in his hand. He watched numbly as the people started to gather and the cars approached the house. He blinked at the harshness of the desert sun as his mind traveled elsewhere.

Sirens blared as the ambulance approached the reservation. A dazed Max Evans stared unseeing at the commotion. He heard the sirens, but he didn't take notice of them. In his mind, he replayed what had happened at the ravine.

He was aware of the people around him, but he was so dazed, his mind still immersed in what had just happened that he just stood in the middle of the commotion.

His mind had gone on autopilot once he realized that Riverdog was dead. There was no sense in yelling for Eddie to come and help. He walked to the reservation where his house was located. Eddie was nowhere to be found. Nobody was around to help.

//flash//

Two ships flying through a dark sky. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and lightning danced through the clouds. The first ship crashed into a field, while the second crashed into the distant horizon.

//flash//

Doors opened and slammed close. In the distance, he heard the static of radio frequencies being exchanged and frantic commands being issued.

"American Indian.. 65-year-old male.." The commands of the paramedics interspersed with Max's memories and the images in his head.

//flash//

A young girl with light copper skin, and long dark hair. The expression on her face was one of fear at first, but soon became a look of understanding.

//flash//

The same girl playing with a younger girl with blond ringlets, her blue eyes sparkled. Nasedo watching on while talking to Riverdog.

//flash//

He overheard the paramedics talking on their radios. One man turned to him to ask where the patient was. Max pointed towards the open doorway.

"There. In the bedroom. First door to the left," he said.

They rushed past him, jostling him out of the way in their rush to get inside. He allowed them to go in. His mind was numb.

"... Man must be handled with care, and extreme caution.. Status unknown.."

He noticed the phone in his right hand and heard the dispatcher's anxious voice coming out of it in tiny sounds. He immediately placed it to his ear.

"Hello? Um, yes. Sorry. Yes. They're here." Max replied confused. He thrust the phone at one of the paramedics, who took it and talked to the dispatcher.

He had so many questions, so many doubts, and when he struggled to heal Riverdog, his mind exploded into blackness and the connection was gone.

He vaguely remembered dialing 911.

A dark-haired man in a pinstriped tie and suit came up to him on the lawn, pad in hand. He looked at Max critically.

"Young man? I understand that you're the one who placed the call. My name is Detective James"

Detective? The thought pierced through Max's muddled mind enough to have him draw up and take stock of his situation.

"Yes, I'm Max Evans." He said, a bit clearer than a while back.

"May I ask you a couple of questions?"

"Can I ask, why, first?" Max inquired. "I made a call, it was an emergency."

"Yes," Detective James reassured him.

Just then, the medics rushed out, taking out the stretcher carrying Riverdog. One paramedic was on the stretcher, trying hard to revive the man, but gave up as the stretcher came out of the doorway.

"Is he alright?" Max asked anxiously at the group coming out of the house.

One of them looked at him, eyes incomprehensible. "You tell us, sir. What happened here?" she asked.

"What? What are you talking about?" he asked, and turned around to face Detective James in bewilderment.

"He's dead. It's too late," he heard one paramedic murmur. He looked around in time to see the old man, who he should have saved, being placed into the back of the ambulance with a sheet over his head.

"Mr. Evans?" Detective James said probingly, his hand outstretched. "Mr. Evans, we really need to go over what happened here."

Max wondered why, but complied. "Wha- What's happened?" he asked again.

"Max, I need to ask you a few questions about what has happened, trust me, it's very routine." Detective James said reassuringly, "But, I think it would be easier if we did this at the station. Save you going over it twice, is that ok?"

Max nodded as his mind raced. What if they thought that I was responsible? What if they didn't believe me? He sighed as he tried to come up with a good excuse as to why he had come to see Riverdog. Max knew the excuse that it had to do with aliens might not do him any good. No matter how true it was.

"If you'll just step into the car."

Max nodded and walked to the car trying desperately to think of what to say next.

"Do you want to call anyone? You're mom or dad?" Detective James asked as Max sat in the car.

Max shook his head, he didn't want his parents involved. "Umm, could I call Jim Valenti..." Max paused and quickly added, "it's just so he can let my parents know."

Detective James nodded and got in the front of the car, "Sure thing, you can call him as soon as we get to the station. Don't look so worried you aren't in any trouble. We just need to find out what happened. Just tell us everything you know."

Max took a deep breath and nodded, that advice sounded good in theory but unfortunately, if he told them everything he knew he would have a lot more to worry about than a few local cops.

~

"Oh, my God, Max!" Isabel heard her mother's voice as soon as the police car came up the drive to bring Max home. She had idea of what had happened. Jim Valenti had called her and had given her the head's up on the situation. He didn't go into any details, but she knew that something had happened, something was wrong.

It had taken all her willpower to struggle against going to the station herself and getting Max. But, she, as well as the others, had to keep up the pretence of being normal teenagers.

"What happened?!" she heard her mother, frantically ask Max.

"Nothing, I'll explain later." Max replied wearily.

"That man died, and you were there. Why?"

"Mom... I'll explain, okay?"

"Officer, thank you so much... for taking care of him."

"No problem, Ma'am. We might be calling him in later to ask him to clarify a couple more things."

"Yes. That's all right, but you might have to talk to my husband about that that."

"No problem. Good day, Mrs. Evans. Have a nice day, Max."

Isabel chewed her fingernails anxiously. She heard her mother thank the officer profusely for bringing her brother home.

Their dad had arrived from the office ten minutes earlier, no doubt still composing himself in the bedroom.

Her hands shook in nervousness, but she couldn't get out of the kitchen. She wanted, desperately, to help her brother out of this mess. But without complete knowledge of what had happened, she couldn't do anything.

Well, not really nothing.

Isabel took up space behind the doorway of the kitchen so that she would be able to hear her parents and her brother talk. She pulled up a chair and lightly bolted the door so that she wouldn't be surprised if anyone came in unexpectedly.

~

"Mom, can I go up to my room for a while?" Max asked his mind already thinking of ways to get down from his room and to Michael's apartment without being noticed.

"Oh no, Max Evans, you will not be going anywhere," came Mr. Evans' stern voice from the staircase and from the look on his face, Max knew that he was going to have to hear this out, whether he liked it or not.

Irrationally, he felt himself getting angry. But he quelled it. His mother's shocked and pained expression made him want to comfort her. But he didn't know how. She still couldn't take her eyes away from him, tears swimming in her eyes.

"What were you doing with a dead man, Max? And who is this Riverdog? And what were you doing across town?" his father started to ask, the questions coming on top of each other.

Max looked at his father impatiently.

"What the hell is happening with you, Max? What have you been doing?" his father said, his arms waving to punctuate his points.

"It's like we don't know you anymore," Diane Evans added softly.

Her soft comment made both men stop and look at her. She was obviously pained. Max took a deep breath, and tried to explain.

"I met Riverdog when I started working at the Museum. He had some artifacts and stories to tell about things related to the crash in 1947. Milton knew him, and we got introduced."

Max looked at his parents trying to gage their reaction. "I need more information because I'm writing a paper on him and his tribe's history."

His father seemed to take it in. "Yes. But that doesn't take away the fact that you were there at the scene of a crime."

"Crime? The scene of a crime?" Max asked, starting to get angry again at his father's choice of words.

"He died, Dad! He just died!" He felt his voice start to rise. "What were you thinking?"

"Frankly, I don't know what to believe anymore, Max." his father said wearily. "This past year, you've been getting involved in all these crazy things.. Getting summoned from school, the Sheriff coming over, you and Isabel being so quiet about things.."

"Sneaking off into the middle of the night, sleeping away from home and coming back home to sleep and waking up on the clothes you went out in." Diane Evans added to her husband's litany. Max looked at his mother sharply. "Yes, Max. I know all about those, too. You and Isabel.. We thought the therapy would help but-"

"But it obviously didn't." His father finished.

"What is this, the third degree?" Max started to say. "I went there, and he was dead, alright? I called 911, and they came. What do you want me to say? That I killed him? That there's something more to this that I'm not telling? Come on, tell me what you think!" he said, his voice rising.

He looked at his mother, whose eyes were tearing up. "Oh honey," she started and touched his sleeve.

"No, Max. We're worried. We're just worried of what's happening to you. You've been in the middle of all these crazy things, and we cant help but think that there must be something to all this," his father said.

"What, Dad, you need to read the police records? What they asked me, and look up the transcripts? You can, you know. You're a lawyer," he spat out.

"Why can't you just believe me? That I went to see him, he was dead. I called 911 and that's it!"

Philip looked at his son, being a lawyer, he had seen one too many children falling into addiction and crime with the same secretive attitude that his son was exhibiting. He knew in his heart that Max and Isabel were not those types of kids, but he couldn't help but wonder what his children were doing, and why all these things were happening to them.

"Max. Be that as it may, your mother and I are worried. And I do NOT appreciate the tone of your voice. But, we trust you," he said a bit more calmly. "We believe what you're telling us. And if you need legal help, we can help you," he added.

Max rolled his eyes. "Dad, I don't think it'll come to that-"

"Fine. Maybe. But if it does, I'll be damned if my children get dragged into this."

Max nodded, "Mom, Dad. I'm sorry. For everything. For today. For last year. But please, please believe me that I didn't have anything to do with this-" he said desperately.

"Yes, Max, we believe you," Diane replied softly.

Max breathed a sigh of relief.

"BUT. But," Philip warned as Max's head snapped to look at his father. "As of today, we're keeping tabs on you, Max. No more nights out until this is over-"

"What?" Max said in shock.

"I said, no nights out. Nothing. No going out. Its home, school, and work. Nothing more, nothing less." Philip said sternly.

"You can't do this!"

"We can, and we will. And, until this is settled, no more phone calls to your room."

"I can't believe this!"

~

Isabel straightened up from where she was seated, ear against the door. She tried not to make any noise as she peeked out of the kitchen to look at the hallway to the corridor.

All clear.

She went up the staircase and into her room. She picked up her phone and dialed Michael's number. After no response, she sighed and hung up the phone.

She thought for a moment and dialed another number hoping Michael would be there.

"Hello?"

"Um, hello? Ms. Deluca? This is Isabel Evans. Is Michael there?"

"Isabel? Yes. Actually, he's here, he just took Maria and I out to dinner. Is school alright?"

"It's great, Ms. Deluca. I'm sorry, but can I-? It's really an emergency..."

"All right, Isabel, I'll just go get him for you."

"Iz," he said seriously.

"Michael."

"What?"

"Umm, The...the police just dropped Max off a while ago. My parents are still downstairs arguing with him about it. I wish he weren't so stubborn-"

"What? Isabel. Get a grip and tell me what's going on." Michael interrupted her ramblings.

"Valenti...called me, from the station, he said that Max went to see Riverdog and he was dead."

There was a pause on the phone as Michael absorbed Isabel’s words. "What do you know for sure?"

"I don't know anything!" She whispered, frustrated. "That's the problem! My parents got a hold of him before I did!"

On the other end of the line, she heard Michael's growl of frustration as he covered the phone and he could faintly be heard making an excuse to Maria and Amy as to what was going on.

"Michael. Michael," Isabel said urgently, trying to get his attention.

"Iz?"

"Riverdog's dead and Max was there. I don't know what happened, Michael. I don't know what he's done." She said in despair.

"Isabel, it's Max, he's not stupid. Are they're holding him for a crime or something?"

"I don't know! They dropped him off. I think we're okay for the meantime. But I heard the police officer say something about bringing Max in for questioning again. I know it has something to do with us, but until I get to talk to Max, I won't know for sure."

"And when would that be?" Michael wanted to know.

"I don't know yet. But I'm sure that my parents are freaking out about it. I mean, I think they're going to ground him."

Michael sighed heavily on the other end of the line.

"Of all the things we need right now.." Michael began.

"..I know. But, hang on, okay? I'm going to call you later, maybe, to tell you what happened."

"Iz. Take care. And tell Max to keep his cool."

That made her smile. "Coming from you, that sounded weird."

She heard him chuckle. "Yeah, I know. But I mean it."

"I know... Bye, Michael." she said

"Yeah. Bye," with that, the phone line went dead. Isabel slowly placed the phone back on the receiver. She put her ear to the door and she could still hear her parents and her brother arguing. They weren't yelling, but speaking in low, angry tones, and that scared her even more.

Relax, Max, please. For all our sakes. She told him silently.

~

Michael hung up the phone and exhaled a deeply. Max arrested, Riverdog dead...what could have happened? Max wouldn't have killed Riverdog he knew that much...but it was too coincidental that Max would go and see Riverdog for the first time in months and for him to be dead. What had happened at the reservation? Why didn't Max tell him that he was going to see him?

He rubbed his forehead wearily, Riverdog was dead... another human was dead, maybe because of them. Don't be stupid Michael, Max is NOT like Tess. Max would never kill anyone, especially not Riverdog.

He shook his head and sighed, he had to find out what happened. He had to find out what had happened now. He turned around and looked at Amy, Maria, and Sean standing together in the kitchen looking at him.

"Is everything okay, Michael?" Amy asked concerned.

Michael smiled and nodded his head. "Yeah, everything's fine. But I have to go."

Amy smiled back. "Okay. Well, thank you for a great night." She rubbed her hands together and smiled. "Now if you kids will excuse me...I think there is bubble bath running with my name on it..."

The kids nodded and Amy retreated from the room. Michael then turned his attention towards Sean. He glared at Sean briefly before he held his hands up in the air and walked over towards the lounge.

"I have to go, I'll see you later..." Michael whispered to her quietly.

Maria looked up at him in confusion. "Why? What was that you were saying about Max?"

Michael looked at Maria as she looked at him expecting a clarification. "Max has something going on and I need to check it out. I have to go, I'll let you know later what's going on."

As he finished speaking he walked away from Maria and out to the door. Maria walked after him quickly and caught up with him as he stepped outside.

She stopped behind him and pulled his arm, "Not so fast, Michael Guerin. What's going on? What's up with Max?"

Michael looked at her and shook his head sadly, she couldn't understand and he didn't have time to explain. He had to see Max and had to find out what happened, maybe they could fix this. "I have to go Maria, I said I'll see you later.."

"Tell me what is going on, I deserve to know. He is my friend as well, you know."

Michael looked at her and shook his head, "I don't know what's going on, that's what I am going to find out if you will let me go...thank you."

Maria looked at him stubbornly, "So, Isabel calls and you drop everything? She tells you something major has happened and you don't feel like explaining?"

Michael shook his head and looked at her coolly, "Exactly. Now if you want to make this something major then go ahead, but I don't have time to go over this now. I'll call you later."

Maria looked at him as he spoke, she knew there was something wrong with him. He had been fine before he had spoken to Isabel and now...now he looked upset. "Michael, tell me what's wrong..."

Michael shook his head and sighed, "I have to go, it's important. I'll see you later."

With that he walked off leaving Maria alone in the street outside her house.

"It's really amazing."

Maria turned around to look at Sean as he stood a few steps behind her. "What's amazing? And shouldn't you be inside doing something or is eavesdropping more important?"

Sean smiled and walked closer, "It's amazing how Michael and Max control both of your lives. They ask you to jump and you both ask how high..."

Maria shook her head and glared at him, "You have no idea what you are talking about, Sean. You know nothing about my relationship with Michael, or even Liz's relationship with Max."

Sean looked at her, "Really? Well, maybe not...but I know that you are having a relationship on his terms...everything has to revolve around him and Max." As he paused he leaned down to whisper in her ear, "why do you think that is? Why do you and Liz put up with the crap those two put you through? Love or loyalty?"

Maria shook her head and began to walk away. "Sean, I don't know what you are thinking, but my relationship, with a man I happen to love by the way, is none of your business! So do me a favor and stay out of it, you know nothing about Michael. So, instead of criticizing other people, why don't you go and do something constructive, like getting a life of your own so you can stop interfering in mine!"

Sean turned to her and opened his mouth to respond but shook his head as he lets her walk away inside before saying quietly. "I know enough..."

He shook his head and sighed as he walked into the house.

~

Max sat at the foot of his bed, his head being supported by his hands. He heard his door open and looked up to see Isabel enter his room. Isabel walked over to Max and sat next to him.

"Max what's wrong?" Isabel asked.

"Riverdog's dead," Max said.

"I know, Valenti told me that on the phone," Isabel said before adding. "What happened?"

"I went to see Riverdog today," Max said retelling his story. "And when I got there I found him lying on the ground. I tried to heal him, but there was something inside of him. Something I couldn't heal, I don't know what it was but I couldn't fix what was happening..."

"Why did you go see Riverdog?" Isabel asked quietly.

"I got a call from Eddie telling me Riverdog wanted to see me," Max said. "He said Riverdog had some information to give me."

"What kind of information?"

"I don't know," Max replied. "But I think it might have to do with a way to find my son."

"And you didn't even mention anything to me or Michael about it?" Isabel asked with anger laced in her voice.

"Riverdog only wanted to meet me."

"And you couldn't let us know?" Isabel inquired getting up and standing in front of Max. "Aren't we important enough to know what you're doing? What you're planning? What if something had happened while you were out there."

"I can't wait on you and Michael before I do anything," Max explained. "I have to find my son. And I can't afford to check everyone’s timetables to find a time that suits you. Even though it might be of low importance to you, it's not to me. I will find him, no matter how I have to go about it."

"That's all this is about Max," Isabel replied. "You having to find your son. You haven't even met him, and yet you've already placed him over me and Michael. You're son's more important than Michael and I?"

"It doesn't come down to importance, you two are safe and old enough to look after yourselves, he's not." Max simply looked away from Isabel shaking his head.

Isabel looked at Max and shook her head angrily. She opened her mouth to reply but instead walked out of his room and slammed the door behind her.

Max heard the front door slam and he knew that Isabel was gone. He couldn't figure out why Isabel couldn't understand why this was so important to him. This is my son, any parent in my place would do anything to save their child. Max continued to sit on the floor for a few more minutes before he got up and took the keys from his desk and headed out the door.

~

Max parked in front of the cafe and got out of the jeep. He paused momentarily at the entrance of the cafe as he saw Liz through the window.

She was in her uniform, taking a customer's order. Max felt his heart move, he wanted to go in there and take Liz in his arms. He wanted to kiss her and let her know that she was the one he wanted.

Max shook himself back into reality, he had to let Liz know what had happened. Max entered the cafe and headed for Liz. When he got to her Max gently touched Liz on the shoulder. Liz turned around surprised to see him.

"We have to talk," Max announced softly.

Liz nodded and then motioned for Max to follow her into the back room.

"Max, what's going on? Michael said..." Liz asked when she and Max were alone.

"Something's happened," Max cut her off, "And I really need someone to talk to, please..."

Liz nodded her head and smiled at him reassuringly, "I finish in an hour, if you want you can go upstairs and wait for me, then we can talk."

Max smiled at her and nodded his head sadly, "Thanks..."

Liz nodded her head, "It's no problem, Max. Go on up, I'll see if I can get someone to cover."

Max looked at her and smiled before walking up the stairs towards her room. It was so easy for him to talk to her, he could tell her anything and being in the same vicinity of her made him feel infinitely better. As he got to her room door, he looked around.

For the longest time he had been unable to step inside this room without the image of Liz and Kyle in bed together assaulting him. He knew now that it hadn't happened and although he didn't know why Liz had lied to him he knew that he should have believed his instincts at the time that told him that what he saw wasn't real. But he hadn't...and that had given him an excuse to seek comfort elsewhere.

He sat down on the bed and sighed, he had took comfort in Tess, under the illusion that they were destined by a higher power to be together and she wouldn't betray him like Liz had appeared to have done. How wrong he was...and now he had to live with that, and the knowledge that she was now on another planet with his son.

"Max?" Liz said quietly from the door as he sat engrossed in thought.

"Liz, hi, did you..."

Liz smiled at him and walks over, "Maggie said she's cover me, Max, what's happened?"

Max sighed and looked at her sadly, "It's a long story..."

Liz took his hand reassuringly, "So tell me it all, I'm not going anywhere."

Max nodded his head as he began, "Thanks. I went...I went to see Riverdog..."

~

It was the morning after Max had come home from seeing Riverdog. Isabel looked in the mirror and applied her make up with a wave of her hand. She sighed loudly, Max hadn't come home last night after he had left. The argument had lasted too long between him and her parents, and that wasn't even counting the argument between him and her. She looked angrily at the mirror.

Why didn't he care? She shook her head as she stood up, actually, it was painfully obvious why he didn't care, he had another family now so he could afford to lose the one he had grown up with.

She walked into the kitchen and smiled as she saw her parents. She was always going to need them and there was no way that she would let Max's little quest destroy that.

"Hey mom, hi dad." She smiled as she walked over to the table.

She looked up to see her parents force themselves to smile at her. The three of them sat in silence as her mom looked at the kitchen door expectantly. She stayed like that before she looked at Isabel.

"I'm assuming your brother is upstairs getting ready?" Diane asked as she looked expectantly at Isabel who avoided her gaze as she tried not to look like she was lying.

"I...I don't know...Mom...probably."

Diane looked at her and Isabel lowered her gaze to avoid looking at them. "Probably?"

Diane looked at Philip and sighed before she stood up. Diane wasn't a complete idiot, she knew that Max wasn't upstairs but she had hoped. She had hoped her son had at least cared enough to make the effort. Her and his dad had always been patient with him...

Isabel looked at her mom sadly, she didn't deserve this. She took a deep breath, at this moment she could kill Max.

Her dad looked at her and smiled reassuringly. "Are you not going to be late, sweetie?"

Isabel looked at her watch, "Damn it!" She was running late, this was all she needed. She stood up from the table quickly and looked at her mom and dad. "If you want I...I could call him, see where he is?"

Diane smiled at Isabel. "Don't worry about it, Isabel. It's fine, we'll see Max when he finally comes home. You get off to college. You don't need to be late so soon after starting..."

Isabel smiled as she walked past them. "I'll see you both later then, I guess..."

As she walked out the door her parents called goodbye after her. As soon as they were sure that she had gone Diane looked at Philip and sighed sadly. "Where is he Phillip? Why didn't he come home?"

Philip stood up and walked over to her and hugged her gently. "He was probably out thinking about things, you know what teenagers are like. We had to talk to him."

Diane nodded her head sadly and sighed as he caressed her shoulder. "We told him to stay home! Why can't he trust us?"

Phillip looked down at her and shook his head. "Because he can't be the perfect son forever...no matter how much we would like him to be, he's only human..."

Diane looked down and sighed, "Yeah...only human."

~

Michael deliberately went to school early, he had to speak to Max and there was no way that he was going to let him avoid him anymore. He looked at his watch and leaned against Max's locker, waiting on him.

He was angry and upset. Max hadn't even bothered to give him a call about what had happened with Riverdog.

"But why would he do that? It isn't like I thought he was my father or anything at any point. It isn't like he saved my life. Why would I care?"

Michael ran a hand through his hair as the voices in his head continued to play his thoughts over and over again, making him angrier and angrier. It wouldn't do anyone any good to go launching into a full offensive with Max, for one thing, he needed to know what had happened.

Michael looked around quickly, Kyle Valenti was standing with his football buddies but was occasionally looking towards him suspiciously. Michael shook his head and turned back towards the entrance and he stood up more fully when he saw Max walk purposely across to his locker. Michael made no effort to move from out of the way.

"Michael." He acknowledged as Michael looked at him expectantly. "You planning on standing there all day?"

Michael took a step aside and Max opened his locker and took his books out of it.

"What happened last night? I came around and you were gone, so I went home and you weren't there either. So where'd you go?"

Max didn't turn around. "I was out. I got sick of getting interrogated by my mom, dad, and Isabel. So, I really didn't need anything else from you."

Michael looked at him angrily but kept his voice quiet as he noticed the students around them. "Oh, well that's okay then, were you ever planning on telling me anything, or would I get the condensed version from Isabel and Maria and put the pieces together on my own?"

Kyle looked over from his own locker towards the sound of the raised voice. He visibly tensed as he looked at Max and Michael and noticed Liz and Maria walking towards them.

Max threw a book into his locker, slammed the door shut and turned to Michael. "I had a really bad night last night and I really don't want to talk about it with you here, so if you can please give me a break, for once!"

Michael glared at him but managed to keep his voice calm. "I want to know what happened."

"So do I. But you know what, I guess we don't always get what we want." Max added as he tried to walk away but Michael grabbed a hold of his arm stopping him.

Maria and Liz walked over as Max looked at Michael angrily. "Let go of me, Michael."

Liz looked at Maria and then to Max and Michael. "What's going on? Come on, this really isn't the place for this. People are starting to watch..."

Michael and Max didn't take their eyes off each other and Michael spoke forcefully as he let Max's arm go. "I want to know what happened."

Max turned to him and glared at him as Maria and Liz stood between the two of them. "I am not scared of you, Michael and I won't respond to your bully-boy tactics."

Kyle listened and watched intently as Maria and Liz desperately tried to calm them down. What were they going to do, have a fight right in the hallway, to hell with Maria and Liz? That was typical of them. They could do that because they were a law unto themselves, or so they thought. He wasn't going to let them hurt Maria and Liz like that. He looked at them angrily and walked over towards them.

"Hey, Valenti. Where are you going?" One Kyle's buddies called to him as Kyle walked off without saying a word. The guy, dressed in a letter man's jacket turned to the others and shook his head as the others laughed and began to walk away. "That guy is losing it..."

Kyle ignored them as he walked over to Michael and Max. Maria desperately held onto Michael's arm and whispered. "Come on, Michael. Let it go, people can hear."

Kyle walked over to them and asked forcefully. "Everything okay? Liz? Maria? You two okay?"

Liz looked at him and smiled awkwardly as Kyle glared at Max and Michael. "We're fine, Kyle. Things are okay."

Kyle continued to glare at Max and Michael. "Really? Because they don't sound fine."

Max looked at Michael. "I'll talk to you later." Before walking off angrily.

Michael watched him go and shook his head before walking in the opposite direction leaving Kyle, Liz, and Maria alone together. Kyle smiled slightly. "Something I said?"

Liz looked at Maria and shook her head as she answered. "I wish..."

Isabel breathed a tired sigh as she walked out the door of her Psych class. She couldn't wait to get home and put her feet up. College, so far, had been a lot more work than she expected it to be.

Of course, she reasoned, it didn't help that so much was going in her life outside of college. She stopped herself from smiling bitterly as she walked. Not many other freshmen would have her problems, of course, not many other freshmen were aliens.

She walked with her head down towards the chairs. One more class and she would be free to go. She sat down and pulled a book out of her bag as she looked at her watch. She had an hour to kill before the final class of the day and then she could go.

Isabel read through her book and was unaware as someone approached her.

"Excuse me?"

Isabel looked up and saw a young woman dark flowing hair looking at her. Isabel smiled, "Yes?"

The woman looked at her and extended her hand out. "Isabel, right? Hi, my name is Serena. I'm in your Psych and Education class, I don't know if you remember me?"

Isabel looked at her and nodded her head in recognition as she smiled. "Of course, how can I help you?"

The woman looked at her and sighed sadly as she spoke. "Umm, is it okay if I sit down?"

Isabel looked at her and moved her bag to allow Serena to sit down. "Sure, is everything okay?"

Serena sat down and looked at Isabel. "Not really, my granddad died last night..."

Isabel looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry..."

Serena looked at her and smiled sadly. "It's not your fault, but thanks. Anyway, I was hoping you could maybe help me. It's...I just don't think I could take another class today..."

Isabel nodded in understanding, "I'll take notes, don't worry."

Serena looked at her gratefully. "Thank you. It's just...I tried to stay but, I really want to be at home..."

Isabel sighed softly. "Trust me, I know how important family is when you lose someone..." Isabel looked down at her hands as she spoke and took a deep breath before forcing herself to smile at Serena. "Anyway, I'll take the notes and we can meet up later so you can copy them."

Serena nodded as she stood up. "Thank you so much, you have no idea how much I appreciate this. It just, it makes it easier knowing that I won't fall too far behind..."

"No problem, don't worry about it..."

"I guess I'll go, I should be back in a couple of days, but thank you, I know I've been really presumptuous, but you were the only person in the class that I had spoken to."

Isabel stood up and smiled at Serena. "Honestly, it's not a problem. Do you want my cell number and you can call me if you want any other notes?"

Serena nodded her head. "Thank you. Again."

Isabel went to her bag and pulled a sheet of paper out and wrote down her cell number. "As I said before, I know how important it is to be with people you care about, so if you ever need to talk..." Isabel folded the paper and handed it to Serena as she continued. "You can call me."

Serena smiled gratefully. "Thanks a lot, Isabel. I mean that."

Isabel looked at her and smiled. "You're welcome. I'll see you when things are a bit better."

Serena sighed and took a deep breath and began walking away. "Thanks again, Isabel. Bye..."

"Bye." Isabel said as Serena walked away before sitting back down on the seat and pulling her book back onto her lap.

Liz had found it hard to concentrate on anything since earlier in the day. The argument between Max and Michael had somehow unsettled her and she needed to talk to Maria about it. It wasn't because Max was involved, or even because Max had apparently told her more than he had told Michael.

It was, no matter how hard she tried, difficult for her to see Max going to all lengths to find his son. He was willing to risk losing it all in order to find his child.

She shook her head in disgust at herself, she was jealous and even though at this moment in time she couldn't see her and Max together, it still hurt that Max had a son with another woman. That Max had a son with Tess. After what she had did. She sighed as she shook her head; that was her problem, not Max's but she needed to talk about it and Maria was one of the few people who understood what she was going through.

She was so engrossed in thought that she almost missed her stop. The bus began to leave the corner when Liz's head shot up. "WAIT!" Liz shouted as she got up from her seat.

The bus came to a halt and the driver looked back at Liz.

"I'm sorry," Liz said quietly as she made her way to the exit doors. "This is my stop."

The bus driver shook his and sighed as he opened the doors for Liz to exit. Once out of the bus Liz ran as fast as she could to Maria's house. Liz flew up the walkway and quickly started knocking on Maria's door. A few minutes had passed and still no one had answered the door.

"Come on Maria answer," Liz said knocking more insistently.

Liz could hear someone moving on the other side of the door.

"Finally," Liz said exasperated as the door unlocked and opened.

"Sean?" Liz asked when she saw it was Sean who answered the door.

"Liz?" Sean asked. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see Maria," Liz said standing in front of Sean nervously.

"Well she should be here in a few minutes," Sean said. "Come on in."

"Sure," Liz said hesitantly.

Sean took a seat, while Liz remained standing. The two of them remained in each other's company in silence.

"What's going on?" Sean asked sitting forward in his chair.

"What do you mean?" Liz asked.

"Liz don't give me that," Sean said. "I know that you, Maria, Michael, Kyle, Isabel, & Max are into something. Now tell me what it is."

"There's nothing to tell," Liz said.

"I know something's up," Sean said. "You can't keep me in the dark forever. Please trust me, tell me what's going on."

"Things are just really confusing right now," Liz said rubbing her forehead.

Sean saw the frustration in Liz's behavior, he knew she was definitely under a lot of stress. He didn't want to see Liz this way, Sean quickly got up from his chair and wrapped his arms around Liz.

"I don't know what you're going through," Sean said. "But whatever it is I'll be there for you."

Kyle had finally gotten home from practice a few hours ago. He laid on his bed and played the music loudly. He used his arm to cover his face as he slept. He rolled over and smiled slightly before his expression changed.

//Flash//

Kyle stood alone in a room and he could hear voices sounding distant. He looked around anxiously. "Hello?"

As no reply came, he walked around and listened to the voices as they became louder and more jumbled. "Hello?"

He walked to the wall and touched it gently as he tried to shout through it. "Who's there?"

When he touched the wall, his fingers passed through it. He pushed through it and fell to his knees.

He looked around and he saw hundreds of gray people rushing past him and their voices grew louder but remained echoing. He got to his feet and looked around him.

"Okay, if everyone could just stop for a minute?"

He looked around and tried to walk through the crowd but as he took a step he noticed a figure in color walk past him crying. His eyes followed the figure and he vainly tried to follow the figure through the crowds as he heard its voice echo loudly. "It shouldn't be here, it's wrong...no one should have seen it!"

He rushed desperately to the end of the corridor and looked around as the colored figure looked at him. "You shouldn't be here! Go away! Go away!"

He tried to look closely at the figure but the gray people rushed in front again and he heard the words echo louder and louder all around him until it's unbearably loud. He squinted as he heard the sound and screamed slightly as he felt himself being forcefully pushed backwards into the gray room.

//Flash//

Kyle woke up abruptly, soaked in sweat. He breathed deeply and closed his eyes before falling backwards and turning the radio off beside his bed. That was a weird dream, well another weird dream. They were getting weirder and weirder recently and harder to understand. He sat up and got out of bed and walked towards his mirror and looked in it. As he wiped his face with his hand he spoke out loud.

"That's what you get for not sleeping enough at night, mess up your sleeping pattern and you get mad ass dreams..."

He looked at his mirror and shook his head before looking at his clock. It was only 7:14 pm. He sighed loudly, he hated sleeping during the day. Basically because it meant that he wasn't with Liz and Maria making sure they were okay and not with Max and Michael.

He looked in the mirror and wiped his face again before taking a deep breath and nodding his head resolved. That's what he would do, he'd grab a coffee and then go and see what Liz and Maria were up to.

He walked towards the kitchen and began humming gently as he made himself a cup of coffee. He could hear his dad and Amy talking quietly out in the garden and he smiled. It was about time that his dad was relatively happy. And Amy seemed to make him happy and that was what he needed just now.

He sighed as he poured the hot water into the cup and he stirred it, it was good that one of them was happy.

Nice Kyle, play the self-pity card why don't you? You are happy.

He chastised himself mentally as he reached over for the bottle sitting on the counter and unscrewed the top. He was happy, everything was back to how it had been before...well, before she had showed up and wangled her way in.

He lifted the bottle up and began to pour it into his coffee instinctively before he looked down at what he was doing. He lifted the bottle up and looked at what he was doing.

He was pouring Tabasco sauce into coffee? His expression turned to one of anger. I am not an alien! He am not a freak! And I definitely didn't need stupid Tabasco sauce in my food anymore!

A voice echoed in his head though, laughing at him and taunting him as it spoke. "If you're not a freak then why do you still drink that? Why did you let them change you?"

He looked at the bottle and threw it angrily against the wall and then picked up his cup and threw that as well. He watched at the red and black liquids drip down the wall and smiled bitterly. So much for not being a freak, she and Max had fixed that for him. He continued to watch it as his dad and Amy came running in.

"Kyle? What happened? Are you okay?" Jim asked concerned as he looked at his son who was busy getting another cup down from the cupboard.

Kyle nodded his head. "I'm fine."

Jim looked at Amy as the both of them noticed the smashed bottle and cup on the floor.

"What happened, Kyle?" Jim asked quietly as he looked at the mess.

Kyle finished making his coffee and looked at the wall. "The bottle slipped."

Amy's eyes widen and she shook her head as Jim looked at Kyle disbelievingly. "The bottle slipped? What about the cup?"

Kyle shrugged his shoulders as he lifted his cup. "That slipped too...don't worry, I'll clean it up as soon as I'm finished."

Jim looked at him and stopped him as he tried to leave the kitchen. "You don't honestly expect me to believe that the cup and the bottle of Tabasco sauce accidentally slipped out of your hand and landed with a crash against the wall ten feet away do you?"

Kyle looked at him seriously. "That's what I said happened."

Jim shook his head. "I don't believe you, Kyle."

Kyle smiled sadly. "I didn't ask you to believe me, Dad."

He began to walk away when Jim called after him. "Are you okay, Kyle? Do you want to talk about anything?"

Kyle closed his eyes for a second before he shook his head and took a deep breath as he turned and smiled. "Nah, I'm fine. I'll see you guys later."

Jim and Amy watched Kyle retreat. As soon as they were both sure he was out of sight Amy walked up to Jim.

"Is he okay?"

Jim smiled at her. "Yeah, he's just..."

"Upset about Tess leaving like that?" Amy asked as she walks over towards the waste paper bin and picked it up.

Jim nodded his head as he walked over to the wall and started to pick the glass up. "I think...I think he still had things to say to her."

Amy sighed. "Poor Kyle, I can't believe she would just up and leave like that."

Jim shook his head sadly. If only Amy knew what had happened, how Tess had betrayed them all, maybe it would help her understand so much. For a split second as he looked at her he thought about telling her everything. Everything about Tess, everything about the others, everything that she deserved to know. But, he reminded himself, it's not his secret to tell. It's not his life that he would be endangering. Not that Amy would endanger anything...but he couldn't do it. Instead he sighed and smiled at her warmly.

Amy walked over to him and sat down beside him. "He and Maria seem to be getting closer, maybe that will be good for them both. After last year..." Amy's voice trailed off and Jim smiled at her as he put some of the broken pieces into the bin.

"Maybe." He answered with a hopeful smile as he took her hand. "Maybe this year will be a good chance for us all to move on with things."

She smiled slowly and looked at him. "Maybe."

They looked at each other tenderly for a minute before Amy sighed. "You know that you should bring Kyle around for dinner soon, I'll cook and I promise I'll even make pie..."

He grinned at her. "Well, when you put it like that, how could I refuse?"

She smiled at him. "Why Jim Valenti, you prove the theory that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach..."

Jim smiled at her as he picked up some more of the bottle and threw it in the trash. "Was I suppose to disagree?"

Amy smiled at him as she stood up. "No...I like a man who knows that I'm right."

Jim stood up and walked towards her. "Well, if that's all it takes to make you happy..."

Amy smiled at him before patting him lightly on the chest. "Ooh, it takes so much more than that to do that...but don't worry, I'll keep you up to speed."

She grinned at him and he sighed as he watched her walk over towards the sink as he reluctantly turned and continued clearing away the rest of the bottle.

~

"Michael."

"Uh, hey, Isabel."

Isabel slid into the booth across from him, and took a quick glance around the deserted Crashdown.

"So," Michael spread his hands and looked at her questioningly, "what's up?"

"Well, you know what's up with Max," she rolled her eyes.

"I know he's been running around, taking a lot of risks in his great 'quest', if that's what you mean."

"That pretty much sums it up," Isabel said, obviously angry as she tossed her hair and took a deep breath.

"He does have things going on...unfortunately we seem to be the last to know."

That's just it. Max has completely shut us out of his life. You know how worried my parents are. He's obsessed with finding his son, and while I can understand that, the risks he's taking are too great. I hate to say it, but I don't think there's any way that Max can get him back."

"Can't blame him for trying," Michael shrugged uncomfortably.

"I can if it gets one of us killed" Isabel's voice was low and serious.

"I'm not going to let anyone get killed," Max said as he walked up to the table.

Michael stared up at him for a moment, then shifted over in the seat to make room for Max to sit. Isabel glared at her brother from across the table.

"You're being reckless, Max," Isabel accused.

"Not intentionally," Max insisted, "I'm just trying to find my son."

"Do you honestly think Tess and Khivar will ever let you have him?" her eyebrows raised as if the idea were incredulous.

"What? Do you want me to just give up?" Max leaned forward angrily.

"Ok," Michael spoke up, putting a hand on Max's chest to push him back against the seat and giving Isabel a 'look'. "Let's not have a rumble in the middle of the Crashdown"

"I'm just doing what I have to do. I don't want anyone, including my son, to be hurt," Max said, his voice strained, but calmer.

"Do you think we do, Max?" Isabel asked him.

"No," shook his head.

"Then, why don't you come to us for help? We're here, Max, and three heads are bound to be better than one. You're so emotionally involved you're making some really stupid decisions," Isabel was trying to maintain control, and was beginning to sound more hurt than angry.

"All right," Michael broke in again, "what's done is done. There's no reason to dwell on it."

"Thanks," Max said quietly.

Michael turned to him sharply, "I think you need to fill us in on what's going on. No more flying solo, Maxwell. Like it or not, we're all in this together."

"Yeah, I know..." Max looked down at his hands, sorrow creeping over his features.

"Max, we're here," she whispered.

Looking up at her, Max nodded and gave her a small smile.

"Yeah," Michael said firmly, "We're here, so why don't you start telling what you know?"

Max took a deep breath and looked up at the two of them. His gaze resting first on Isabel, then on Michael.

"When I tried to heal Riverdog, I got some 'flashes'," Max began.

~

The night skies provided little illumination as Max and Isabel drove in silence in the jeep. Max looked at Isabel as she drove straight ahead without speaking to him. She didn't look around as she drove and he sighed loudly as he looked at her.

"You know you can't ignore me indefinitely."

Isabel didn't turn around but slowed the jeep down and pulled over towards the side of the road. "Do you have any idea what you are doing with your little quest? Do you have any idea what you are doing to Mom and Dad? Or do you not care?"

"I do care." Max said softly as Isabel looked at him.

"Do you?" Max listened as Isabel spoke to him angrily. "I need my family, Max. I can't lose them, I don't have another family out there that I can replace them with. Mom, Dad, you and Michael. That's my family..."

Max shook his head slightly as he responded. "That's my family as well, but I also have a son out there who may very well be living with a dictator and a murderer."

Isabel looked at him sadly. "I'm aware of that, Max. But they have the granolith. They have Tess, they have the means to stay there forever if they wanted to. They have everything. We have to live here, you have to live here. You are going to lose everything if you keep this up..." She looked down and added quietly. "I can't lose them, Max. I need them too much."

Max looked at her and sighed as he put a comforting arm on her shoulder. "I know you do, Iz. Things have just been..."

He leant his head back on the seat and continued. "Things have just been hard. It's been hard for me..."

"It's been hard for me as well, Max. Not that you would know."

Max shook his head. "Do you have any idea how I felt last year? I accepted her into our lives, I slept with her. I got her pregnant. I gave her an excuse to be here..."

"We all accepted her." Isabel looked of out the window as she continued. "We have to remember that it started with me, you and Michael. That's how we started this, she was always going to be an outsider. Always."

"I can't let my son turn out like her, or like Khivar for that matter, Isabel. I can't let him stay there with them. I need to get him back."

Isabel turned to him and nodded her head sadly. "I know you can't, but you have a life here as well, Max. You have people here that need you."

Max nodded his head. "I know, I have."

He smiled at her and continued. "I'll try and talk to Mom and Dad, I'll try and fix this."

Isabel smiled at him. "Good, because they don't deserve this. I wish we could just..."

"Isabel, we can't." Max interrupted her and she looked down sadly. She knew they couldn't, they had argued about it before. But if she could just tell her Mom...

Max looked at her and added gently. "We can't tell them just now, you said it yourself. You can't lose them...what if they took it badly?"

Isabel forced herself to smile. "They're our parents Max, they love us unconditionally. But you're right, now isn't the time..."

She started the car and pulled back onto the road and the two of them talked until she drove into their street. Max looked apprehensively at the house where the lounge light was still on.

"Well, Mom and Dad are still up." Max said as he jumped out the Jeep.

Isabel nodded her head as she got out and walked around to his end. "They want to talk to you." She smiled as she added. "You remember the whole basis of the word talk don't you? You know, they say something and you say something back? Don't go storming out again."

Max looked at her amused but disbelieving. "Please tell me you are not playing the big sister role?"

Isabel smiled gently. "No, but I just want this to be over with, I don't like the way things have been."

Max nodded his head and smiled at her. "I don't like it either..."

The pair stood in silence for a minute before he sighed. "Well, I may as well get this over with..."

She nodded her head and walked towards the house as he followed.

As they stepped inside Diane looked at Phillip and they both stood up as their children walked in. Isabel walked in first and smiled at her parents as Max stood at the door awkwardly. Diane smiled at her daughter before looking at her son as he looked in towards her.

They stood in an awkward silence as Isabel observed them. She sighed, they needed to clear this up themselves and that meant that she had to leave them alone.

"I'm just going to get to bed...I'll see you guy's in the morning. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, sweetie." Diane said as Isabel walked out the door leaving the three of them alone.

Phillip and Diane looked at Max as he spoke, "Mom, Dad...I'm...I'm so..."

Diane cut him off before he got a chance to finish. "Don't. Don't say your sorry if you don't mean it, Max."

Max looked at her as she spoke. Her voice was angry but he could see that she was hurt and upset at him and that made him feel bad. It was hard for him as well that he couldn't tell her what was really going on. But, although he knew that it probably wouldn't matter to his parents a voice kept haunting him, "They would turn you in, no love is unconditional. They would see that you are different and you would have no one...they would hate you." It didn't matter, at this moment it would be so easy to tell them. His mom and dad would be able to help him deal with everything like they had done when he was younger. But he couldn't, he couldn't tell them. He had to lie.

"I do mean it, Mom..." He tried to keep his voice steady as he spoke, he did mean it. He was sorry for it all.

Diane looked at her son intently, what was going on in his head. Why could he go from behaving like a total stranger to being the little boy her and Phillip had rescued 12 years ago so quickly? Things had changed so quickly but no matter what, he was still her son.

"Max, please let us know what is going on, please let us help you."

Max looked at her and smiled sadly, "You know what's going on...you know it all."

Diane shook her head, "No, we don't...we don't know half of it..."

Phillip walked over and looked at him, "The police called, they said that they doubt they will be looking for anyone in relationship to the death. They might need to see you at the inquest hearing but..."

Max smiled involuntarily and he exhaled. "Really?"

Philip nodded his head, "Really...now tell us where you were last night."

Max looked at him and sighed, "I went to see Liz. I...I needed to talk to someone."

Diane walked over to him and touched his arm, "You could have talked to us..."

Max looked at her and smiled sadly, "I wanted to, but I couldn't after we had argued. I just... needed to talk to someone and that's where I went. I just needed time..."

Diane looked at her son and hugged him tightly, "Please don't shut us out, Max. We are your parents and we need to be able to talk."

Max hugged her back and nodded his head, "I know we do, I promise I'll try harder. I don't want you both to be disappointed in me..."

Phillip walked over and patted his son on the back and smiled, "We're not disappointed in you, Max. We just need you to remember that we are your parents. Things have to start changing."

Max nodded his head but didn't respond. A lot of what he had learned over the past few days meant that things had to change but he didn't want to think about that now. He just wanted to forget what had happened and what he has saw, he just wanted to go back to when things were simple, even if it was only for a minute.

~

Maria walked through the door and rubbed her head trying to ease her throbbing headache. She sat down on the couch and closed her eyes.

The darkness and the silence seemed to help, but would not take the edge away from her pounding headache.

"How was work?" Amy asked as she walked into the room.

"Horrible," Maria mumbled as she sighed deeply. "I have a terrible headache, my back hurts, and my feet are exhausted."

Amy sighed and sat down beside her. She wrapped her arms around her 'baby' and gave her a little squeeze. "It can't be that bad."

"Do we have any painkillers?" Maria moaned as she pulled away rubbing her head once more.

"That bad?" Amy sighed as she frowned slightly. "I think there is a bottle in the kitchen. Second drawer to the left."

"Thanks," Maria whispered as she headed for the kitchen.

Maria entered the kitchen and rummaged through the designated drawer. "Mom!" Maria cried out in frustration.

"Yes?" Amy called out from the living room.

"Where are they again?"

"They are in the second drawer on the right."

"On the right?" Maria mumbled vividly recalling that she had said left earlier.

Maria turned her right and searched through the drawer. "Did you find them?" Amy's voice rang into the room.

"No," Maria groaned as she began to search all the drawers. She turned to the last drawer. It was the designated 'junk' drawer that she never checked on routinely basis.

She opened the drawer and saw the little bottle, "found it!" Maria was about to close the drawer when she noticed her name written on an envelope.

Maria pulled out the letter and examined it. She turned the unopened letter in her hand and looked at the return address, all it said was 'Abuela'.

"Grandma?" Maria whispered as tears stung her eyes. She hadn’t heard from her since her father left.

Maria wiped away her tears as she sat down on the floor forgetting about her headache. She stared at the letter in her hands before she opened up the letter.

"Mija,

No words can describe how much I miss you, me querido ángel. I do not have much longer. Yo quiero miraba con buenos ojos, me Marita.

No necesitas hacer o decir nada, sólo estate allí para darme moral y tranquilidad de espíritu. If you can't come, pero no complicaré las cosas.

abrazos y besos"

Maria put down the letter and wiped her tears away and stood up. "Mom!" She cried out as she walked into the next room. She clutched the letter in her hand.

"Maria?" Amy asked slightly alarmed as looked at her daughter's eyes blazing with anger.

"Why, did you not show me this letter?" Maria shouted as Amy paled.

"Honey, where did you find it?" Amy questioned.

"Doesn't matter. Why did you hide it?" Maria snapped.

"Maria," Amy began as she reached out to her. Maria stepped back as their gazes locked. "Give me a chance to explain."

"She is my only living grandparent and you took her away from me."

"Maria, it isn't like that." Amy replied trying to keep her calm.

"Mom, she's dying. All she wanted to do was to say goodbye to me in person." Maria whispered.

Amy looked defeated and nodded. She no longer attempted to explain, Maria needed to find out on her own.

"Mom... I need to do this, I need to go to her." Maria replied harshly and started to go out the door.

Maria ran to the car. Amy watched as she climbed into the Jetta and drove off.

She drove quickly to Michael's. She ran up the stairs and banged on the door.

"What?" Came a grumbled response. Michael opened the door and looked at Maria's tear streaked face. "Come here." He whispered as he pulled her into his embrace.

"My grandma, I have to see her," Maria mumbled as Michael held her close. Her tears dampened his shirt as he rubbed her back.

"Where is she?" Michael whispered as he kissed her forehead.

"Texas."

TBC

Translation of the letter:

"Mija,

No words can describe how much I miss you, my darling angel. I do not have much longer. I want to see you with my eyes, my Maria.

You don’t need to do or say anything - just be there to give me moral support and peace of mind. If you can't come, I won't make an issue of it.

hugs and kisses"
