| Out of nowhere, a car speeds towards the group. The car is Maria's and she is behind the wheel. It is coming towards the gang at its highest possible speed. There's no time to move out of the way. Liz is disturbed at what she sees inside the car. Maria is definitely driving, but she doesn't look like she wants to be. As if she were being forced. It sends an eerie chill down Liz's spine. As the car approaches, there are only seconds before it collides with the group. Beaten Max, now loose from Kyle's grip, looks at Isabel and then Michael, then all three look towards the car in unison. Just before contact is made between the car and the group, Maria is surrounded by a bright green light and shoots out from the hood of the car. Then Michael's hand, motions in a semi-circle above his head, causing the car to rise from the ground before them, curve over them in the sky and then land on the road again. The green energy still surrounding Maria, she floats toward Max, her mental condition seems to be at an extreme point of deterioration. Max places his hand on her head and all watch, only to be further astonished, as a bright, white, light emanates from around them. She opens her eyes immediately and finds herself in Max's arms. "You're OK now." He informs her. "OKwhat just happened here?" "No time to explain Alex, but I promise I will." Liz is being sincere." The whole gang hears police cars sounding and see the lights approaching them, not too far away. "Oh my God, Max, it's the police." Liz becomes intensely concerned about everybody's safety. "Kyle, you need to think clearly now. Don't try to process any of this, just take Maria's car and get home safe, can you do that?" He nods, looking completely dumbfounded and after helping Maria into the car with him, quickly makes his way home. "Alex, come on." He is speechless and just does as she insists and so follows her, with nothing else present in his mind that he can trust at the moment. Max, Isabel and Michael leave together and manage to escape before the police arrive at the scene. Later that night Liz consoles Alex and then shaken siblings Maria and Kyle visit the two. Emotions run high and confusion thickens the atmosphere to a point where you could cut through it. Hours are spent. Liz explains, counsels and comforts, but recent events have taken their toll on her friend's minds. Their ability to reason is clouded. After a thorough and strenuous session of reasoning, Liz's friends calm down to a point at which they can deal. The conversations end and everybody heads to their appropriate home, fairly calmly. A short while passes and Liz looks to the stars outside through her bedroom window. She can see them shining dazzlingly through the light rain that had just started. She had a contemplative look upon her face as she worried about all of her friends, on each side of the confusion. Her eyes glimmered with determination the stars glorious light illuminating them. She would never let any of them be hurt. At the same time Max, Isabel and Michael had been arguing over the recent events and what will happen now. Isabel was stopping them from fighting. In the end Isabel and Max made good, justified points and Michael relaxed. Eventually they found a way to communicate peacefully and after talking for a very long time, they called it a night and decided to let tomorrow bring what it will. With that, everybody made their way to their own rightful bed, except for Max. Instead he gazed at the night sky for a while and noticed one magnificent star, which stood out from the rest. He wished that he could share the beauty of that same bright star, with Liz, but was he already? |
