| Michael had made dinner, chicken breast with mash potatoes, to be exact. The table was set and candles were lit and to top it all off, the place smelled like roses, her favorite flower. Michael? Maria called out for him, but the place seemed empty. She kicked off her shoes, took of her jacket, and called out for him again. Michael where are youuuuu she started, but was startled by Michael standing in front of her, dressed up in black jeans and a Marin blue silk shirt. For maybe the first time in her life Maria was struck dumb. Then, WOW! Michael you look so she started. I thought youd say that. He said with a little smirk on his face. You are late. You were SUPPOSED to be here a half a hour ago. He told her. Yes I was, but I stopped by at Mirandas, and it took a litlle longer than I thought it would. But you have really, she took a look around the apartment, outdone yourself this time. She told him. Thank you. He said, and before she knew it, Maria found herself being swept up in his arms and kissed insatiably. When he finally released her again, Maria had to take a long moment to gather her thoughts and try to get her brain to start functioning again. Seeing as how it was currently just a blob of mush, she figured it was the smartest thing to do before trying to speak again. Umm, ok? Not that Im complaining, but what was that for? Michael smiled wickedly. Well I dont know, there are numerous reasons. Maybe because you so cute, maybe because its our two year anniversary, well three counting the first time we kissed at the crashdown, or maybe just because I wanted to do something special for the most wonderful, crazy, girlfriend in the world. Maria was absolutely dumbstruck. Michael, I she didnt know what to say to this, he had caught her totally by surprise, all this time she thought he didnt have a romantic bone in his body, and now he did this. I hope you like dinner. He said turning his back on her while walking into the kitchen, with her following. Michael? She called, but he just kept on rambling. And for desert, we have ice cream and strawberries, just like you love them. I just have to heat up the food first and then well get started. He told her. Michael! She said a little louder. He turned to see what she wanted, as he did, she threw her arms around him and kissed him passionately. But Maria, he said between kisses, what about dinner? Michael. She looked him straight in the eyes. Yes? Screw the dinner, I want you! She demanded. But what about he started. Now! She said and kissed him again. ********* Kyle stop it, I mean it, dont you dare. Kyle no, please no, no, no, ahhh Miranda protested laughing, while Kyle splashed water at her. After about ten minutes of arguing about the keys Miranda gave up on fighting with Kyle, seeing how immature it was anyway, I mean she did want to take a swim, Kyles idea was in effect great, but she couldnt give up that easily. None the less, eventually she had stripped down to her underwear and jumped in. `The water was like pure heaven and the water fight wasnt so bad either` She thought Thats it! She shrieked and launched herself on Kyle. She was so going to show him his place. While laughing and playing, in essence, water wrestling with him she started thinking about how cute Kyle was, and somewhere between coming to Roswell, and this water fight she started enjoying his company. He was a nice guy, well maybe a little too much of a jock for her, but underneath all that Buddha crap, she suspected, Kyle had a heart of gold. And besides the fact that he was single and into her, Kyle was hot. He had a nice body and his beautiful blue eyes reflected the goodness of his heart. And as they were wrestling she noticed how strong his arms were. Slowly, during their play, Miranda found herself not fighting him at all. His arms felt good wrapped around her, and the feeling of his body against hers was more than pleasant. It had been too long since she had felt this close to anyone. Emotionally, was one thing, but physically was another. Her moments with Tac were just that, distant memories drifting even further away. She felt something else awaken inside of her, an urge, she thought she had suppressed and buried deep inside of her a long time ago. Obviously she didnt do a very good job, because even though she didnt want to admit it to herself she had liked Kyle from the start. Even when he was just this stuttering guy who drooled all over her the first time they met. Up til now when he was so close she could feel his heartbeat. Somewhere in between thoughts Miranda noticed that they had stoped fighting and were just standing close to each other. His arms were wrapped around her waist holding her close to him, her back tightly pressed to his chest and they just stood there in the water, saying nothing. Not being able to stand the silance she spoke. Ummthanks Kyle. She said her voice slightly shaking. For what? He asked and loosened his grip so that she could turn around and face him. For this, the swim, the fact that you even bothered to get to know me, everything I guess. She told him, looking up into those big blue eyes of his. It means a lot. She said as her eyes fell on his lips. You dont have to thank me, Miranda. He said, his voice sounded deep and their eyes locked. She cloud feel his fingertips caressing the small of her back, and the warmth that spread through her body as they brushed across her skin in tiny circles. Mirandas heart rate sped up and her chest started to rise and fall. Instantly a warning siren went off in her head, `this isnt good, he wants to kiss me, its written all over his face, and worse then than I want him to.` The rational part of her told her to push him away and not do anything stupid, she couldnt get involved with anyone, let alone a human. Except for Tac she had always been careful not to get involved with anyone, and that alone was a big reason not to do this. But the other part of her told her to just give it up and kiss him, after all Tac and her were history, sure she loved him and missed him but that part of her life was over, Kyle on the other hand was standing right in front of her, in flesh and blood, and just like him she was part human too, right? Her breath grew shallow. She had to get a grip on herself, Kyle, she spoke, this is a bad idea. Her voice sounded deep. Still she couldnt brake the eye contact. It was as if Kyles hold on her was too strong. `I have to get away from him.` She thought. He let go of her and she backed away a litlle but even though he gave her some more room he followed her and leaned in closer again. This time he didnt try to hold her, instead he let his arms sway in the water. Why? He asked using just one word, and nothing else. He looked at her intensely with his penetrating blue eyes. B Be Because, she shuddered, because Im not who you think I am. Im, Im.. she took a step back. Your what? Your name isnt really Miranda? No, I mean yes, it is, its just that, Im not.. Youre not what Miranda? Kyle asked and followed her, not giving her any chance of escaping. Im not safe Kyle. Im dangerous in more ways than one, and I dont want to mess up your life. He smiled a little. With everything he had been through these past few years, she seemed to be the safest thing ever. Youre not dangerous Miranda. It was a statement not a question. Im not ?? She said, her breath quickened. No. He said leaning in even closer. Than what am I? Youre beautiful. He told her and let his hands slowly caress her sides, making her head spin. The need was too strong, she wanted him, needed him Beauty, danger, its all the same. She breathed out, and gave in to desire. Kyle pulled her tightly to him and kissed her with an amount of passion he hadnt thought he possessed. The kiss was fierce, hot and completely consuming. She thought she was going to die. It had been to long since she had felt a mans lips on hers and she realized how much she had missed it. The touch of his lips against hers, the warmth of them, the soft roughness as they moulded themselves against hers and that silky brush of his tongue, it was like a touch of heaven she had been deprived of for too long. She couldnt help but to respond, her hands found their way up and into his hair and she shifted even closer to his body as she kissed him back just as intensely. Kyle held her close to her and lifted her up against him, she wrapped her legs around him and threw her head back as he showered her neck and throat with hot kisses. Slowly without even noticing Miranda felt her energy heat up inside of her and focus itself on Kyle. She knew in the back of her mind that this was the time to stop, to let go of him and leave things alone, but she couldnt, it was too hot, it was too good, and she couldnt make herself let go of him. Instead she kissed him again, this time even harder and with a flick of her tongue, she was in, connecting with him. ***Flash*** *Kyle holding Liz kissing her in the janitors closet ***Flash*** *Him fighting with Max ***Flash*** *Yelling at a blond girl in a cave like room It was the same girl shed seen on the photograph in Michaels apartment. ***Flash*** *And then she was at a funeral a coffin was being lowered and a part of him was feeling it was his entire fault. ***Flash*** *He was getting shot the bullet was tearing through his flesh and suddenly his life was flowing out of him. A moment later it all went away and when he opened his eyes there was Max giving him his life back. ***Flash*** *You cant tell anyone about this, about us Kyle, she saw Max tell him and standing behind him there was Isabel, Tess, and Michael standing. ***Flash*** *What are you? He asked them. Not like you! Michael answered. And then she saw a blinding light come from Michaels hands. ***End of flash*** It was too electric. Miranda gasped, what was this, what did he mean? How was he different? This didnt make any sense. The connection was to strong the pain was too real. `Stop it!` She screamed inside her head, `Stop this!` And the world started spinning uncontrollably. No more! She yelled, Stop it! Stop it! STOP!! And just as quickly the connection was broken. Miranda are you all right? Kyle asked her, she stared at him for a while, didnt he notice anything? Ummyes Im fine. I just got this headache out of the blue, its really bad. She lied. She had to get away from him, and felt the urge to go home. Are you sure? Kyle asked, I mean if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable? He started. No Kyle, thats not it, youthisit was amazing I..I just need to go home, my migraine is really bad. She lied though her teeth. I just need to get home. She told him. Kyle looked at her. Ok then, Ill take you home, but only if you tell me that you dont regret what happened between us just now. He said. Miranda looked at him. I dont...regret anything,` just the stuff I saw inside your head` she thought to herself. I ..it was wonderful in fact, Im just really sorry but my head is going to kill me if I dont get home soon. She told him. And it wasnt a complete lie, she did like kissing him, she liked it a lot, but the visions were a little too much to handle right now. She just had to figure it all out, and she really couldnt do it with him standing so close, she needed to get home. Plus the whole Michael thing was really creeping her out, she needed to sort this thing out before it drew her mad. Ok then, lets get dressed and Ill take you home. He said and led her to shore.
