| Chapter 2 From the Bottom of my Broken Heart By: Britney Spears The fire in her eyes was growing again, and it turned to a roaring blaze within seconds. The girls said nothing, hoping to give the impression that theyd left, but Dominic Toretto couldnt be fooled that easily. Letty, I know youre in there, open the damn door or Ill do it. Fuck you Dom, go away. She screamed in reply. I gave you the choice. Dom slid his key card into the lock, but couldnt get the door to open more than an inch. Damn latch. He cursed to him self. Letty shot Mia a grateful look when she realized Mia had put the latch on. Vince would never have thought to do that. Letty just let me explain. Please baby. I can explain. He pleaded. Go away Dom. I dont want to hear it. She replied. Letty please. Mia decided now was a good time to step in; she shushed Letty and walked over to the door. She could just see his eyes through the space left by the latch. She doesnt want to see you Dom. Mia let me in No. Shell see you when she wants to and thats not now Dominic. Fine! he screamed and stormed away from the door like a five year old. Mia closed to the door, but left the latch on. She knew you couldnt get rid of Dom that easily, hed be back. She walked back to Letty, and sat next to her again. She could see tears welling up in Lettys eyes, but she did a good job of controlling them, and never shed one. She didnt want to push Letty into talking, but she wanted to know what had happened. She decided it would be best to just let her know she would listen if she wanted to talk, but that she didnt have to. *You put a dart through my dreams Through my heart And now Im back where I started again* Letty, I know Im like one of the last people you really want to talk to about you problems with Dom, but I want you to know that Im here if you need to talk about anything. Thanks. She just nodded. They sat in silence for a few minutes before anyone spoke. But once Letty started speaking she couldnt stop, the words just kept pouring from her mouth, and before she knew it, she had told Mia everything that had gone on before she ended up here. Mia just sat and nodded in understanding. So I ask again, why do I stay with him? I dont know what to tell you. I know that he loves you though, and that he would anything for you. I dont know why he cheats. My father did it to my mother before she died, and he loved her. Maybe thats where Dom gets it from, you know, like monkey see monkey do. Your dad cheated on your mom? Letty was surprised to hear that. She had always thought of Mr. Toretto like some kind of god. He had given her a refuge from her violent home life, and took her under his wing. She couldnt imagine him doing anything wrong, let alone cheat. Yeah, and she always took him back. Eventually he stopped though, right after he found out she was sick. He didnt cheat again. Then she died. Thats so sad. I always pictured you dad as like this savior kind of guy. You know I mean he took real good care of you guys, and didnt hit you like my mom and her boyfriends did me, and he took care of me too. Yeah, he was a great man. Mia started to get teary at the memory of her father. Letty wasnt good at consoling people, and she wasnt good at seeing people cry, so she quickly changed the subject. Hey Mia? Do you miss the cop? Promise not to tell Dom? Of course. Yeah. I mean I know he was a cop, and that he was working against us, but he was a person. He was sweet and funny, and he liked me. Or at least I thought he did. Im sure he did. He acted like he did. I dont think he was the kinda guy to act like that just for information or anything. And hey, he got us all cleared of everything. He couldnt have been that bad. |
