Maria and Liz are at the Crashdown waiting for the short order cook to finish their orders, when Michael appears and it turns out he has just gotten the job as the short order cook they are waiting for at the time. He shoves the orders down on the counter and tells them to serve them. Max and Isabel enter and Liz and Max share an affectionate moment - Isabel is not too pleased with the public display however and sits at the counter to look at the menu. Max tells Liz he wanted to take her to the movies tonight and Liz convinces Maria to cover her shift for her and goes off with Max. Maria sighs with envy and Michael says he doesnt know what all the fuss is about and that they just want a place to make out. Michael says he doesnt need a place to make out as he already has his own place. He and Maria exchange glances as Isabel-who has finally decided what she wants-says "I'll have..." Michael and Maria say they are closing early and rush off.
Max and Liz-far from going to the movies-are having a heated make out session in Max's jeep in the forest. Without warning, a hand hits the window and a notably panicked Ms. Topolsky suddenly appears, no longer neatly groomed and organised, but a fearful, messy wreck. She says to Max that they are in danger and that no matter what they need to act like normal kids. Max proceeds to tell her they are, but Topolsky senses someone watching them and rushes off saying she'll be in touch.
Maria and Michael are having their own make out session back at Michael's place when Max, Liz, Alex, and Isabel walk in. Max relates the Topolsky-in-the-forest story back to Michael and Maria. Michael doesnt trust Topolsky. Liz is the only one who really believed her. They decide they should all just stay away. Max gives Michael the blue orb they found while out camping the other day to take care of.
The next day at school lunchtime, Alex senses Isabel is feeling down about all the couples displaying affection and subtly suggests the idea that maybe Isabel needs someone, she seems to be warming to the idea when a new blonde girl with curly hair approaches their table at that moment and asks if an empty seat at their table is taken. Isabel invites her to sit and the new girl introduces herself as Tess. Isabel and Tess start talking and find they have a lot in common, Alex sees that his moment with Isabel is gone and gives up.
Michael and Max are at the Evans' house and Michael is complaining to Max of how Maria wants him to be more affectionate towards her and Max is in the middle of teaching Michael how to make Maria feel more special when Tess suddenly interrupts their conversation - it turns out Isabel has asked Tess over. Tess goes on upstairs to wait for Isabel and the three argue about Tess maybe being another spy like Miss Topolsky.
Later at the crashdown, a bunch of flowers arrives for Liz - Maria initially hopes they have arrived for her. Disappointed, Maria hands them on to Liz who starts going on about how great Max is. Liz goes to a restaurant and a disguised Topolsky slides into the seat opposite her, then proceeds to relate to Liz that the situation is bigger than the FBI - that there is an alien hunter within the FBI looking for Max Evans and anyone that has anything to do with him. The 6 friends are on 'the list' of people. TOpolsky then asks Liz to meet her at 8pm the next day at the theatre.
The next day at school - Max and Liz talk and Liz says how she met Topolsky the previous night. Max instantly doesnt trust Topolsky as she tricked Liz into meeting her by saying she was Max - then Liz tells Max about the list.
Everyone meets in a quarry-like area to discuss Topolsky. Liz says how she seemed genuinely scared. The three aliens think that the meeting should not carry through, while the other three think that the meeting should go ahead - though Maria's vote was just assumed and turns out she thinks Liz shouldnt see Topolsky. Maria and Michael share a moment - Michael thanks her for backing him up.
Topolsky is behind the theatre waiting for Liz who isnt coming. Valenti enters his office late at night and sees Topolsky waiting in the shadows. She says that the kids wont listen to her. Valenti asks that is she admitting that the FBI is investigating the kids. Topolsky says its much worse than that. It turns out that when Topolsky's cover was blown, she was sent back to Washington where she met the special unit. Alien hunters. The agent in charge is called Pierce. |
