This Site is something I've put togethor to allow other people to follow the on going restoration of My Le Velocette. First - A couple of warnings!! I'm fairly new to this web page/computer type stuff so bear with me on any mistakes or problems! I'm always open to suggestions on how to improve this site. This will not be a 100% original, concours type restoration, so purists be warned!! Please don't come bitching to me with "the front axle clamping bolt is supposed to be nickel plated not painted" type crap. I'm going to try and end up with a clean, original looking RIDABLE bike. The bike in question is a 149cc 1948 LE Velocette. It was fairly innovative for it's time - incorporating things like shaft drive rear end, water cooling, hand lever starter etc. For a more complete history and model description, please visit one of my "favorite links" Both these sites give an excellent overview of these little machines. I always welcome emails with suggestions, information or anything about your restoration projects (not just Velo's!!) So click on one of the pages below to enter my latest nightmare!! |
