Dear Mark King,
FURTHER TO the "Pengelly" cartoon in the Tuseday May 17, 2003 issue of Kingston this Week. The cow is on the couch lamenting to the shrink about, well, "I stand in a field all day eating grass, chewing cud, standing, eating grass, chewing cud, standing around. Yeah... I guess I am going mad."
Well you know what's really mad?
Overuse of resources, water and air pollution, soil erosion are all caused by raising animals for food. Eating too much meat is wreaking havoc on the Earth!
"In fact, raising animals for food requires more water than all other uses of water combined, causes more water pollution than any other activity, and is responsible for 85 percent of U.S. soil erosion. Americas meat addiction is steadily poisoning and depleting our land, water, and air. Raising animals for food has a worse effect on the planet than just about anything else we can do. The most important step you can take to save the planet is to go vegetarian. There is no such thing as a meat-eating environmentalist!"
Clearing the precious rainforest to support an unhealthy and environmentally disastrous addiction to dead domesticated beasts? It's not about the animals or our children's future is it? It's about the money, right Ronald? Don't get eukered cause you're eukering everyone including yourself. Boycott the dead animal food industry.
