Dear Editor,

Wendell Challenger has it right when he says that Queen's policy regarding bikes is inadequate.

Bikes are perhaps the most efficent, pollution-free way to travel ever invented. Their presence at Queen's should be welcomed in every way possible.

Being a native Kingstonian I have watched as Queen's parking lots eat up what were once fields and open space. Parking fees for cars should be tripled or quadrupled and the extra revenue used to subsidize lanes and pathways for cyclists.

Let's make Queen's a progressive and responsible University for the future and not just a pawn of the auto-industry.
