Petition Strategy: The focus of this petition is to prevent any changes to the present zoning laws which, if changed, would fast-track development at Block D. Once the current development project has been "blocked" we will be in a better position to determine options for a future of the space which would make the waterfront unique, natural and public. This will improve the quality of life for all Kingstonians as well as her visitors.
There is also the option of appealing to the Provincial and Federal Governments for assistance in purchasing the Block.
Also privately it would be possible to launch a campaign where the Block could be purchased privately by say, the square foot. $100 per square foot. Then the group-owned private land could be given to the city.
