On the PT tuba mouthpieces the PT-48, the PT-50 and the PT-88 cover just about everything in CC and BBb-tubas. They need the standard shank, the S-shank and the Mega-Toni (Heavy Shell) versions.

The
PT-88 is the best of all these mouthpieces, best for dedicated
players with the right tubas and good practice ethics.
It is rather unforgiving though, a couple of days off and it sounds like it
is made out of rubber.

The
PT-48 is a terrific mouthpiece as well, just a bit shallower while
retaining a wide cup and easier to handle The
PT-36 and the PT-84 cover just about everything with students, beginners and occasional players.

The
PT-89 is an entirely
different mouthpiece, not too wide, noticeably with
rather a comfortable resistance. Good to have
around, again as a regular shank and "S" shank model.

On Eb-tubas, the
PT-24+ and PT-84 with "S" or "XS" shank
(for older "Besson" tubas), is also good. For the F-tuba, it is simple;
PT-65 and PT-72 with regular and "S" shank.
