Here is a brief description of the company which manufactured this instrument:
Vaclav Cerveny of Hradec Kralove pioneered a 'Kaiser' range of
instruments. In 1908 the tenor-horn (baritone) was developed, Mahler
used an instrument like this in his Seventh Symphony.
The V.F. Cerveny wind instrument factory was founded by
Vaclav Fratisek Cerveny (1819-1896) in 1842 in the industrial
metropolitan center of Hradec Kralove. Richard Wagner loved the
instrument and incorporated much of its design into his Wagner Tuba.
In 1882 V.F.Cerveny designed the Kaiser Baritone, Kaiser Euphonium
and Kaiser Bass, the instruments with an extra large bore and bell
which are still being manufactured today. It was Cerveny who originally
designed the system of rotary valves for brass instruments in 1846 and
further improved in 1861 and 1873. Cerveny has participated in World
exhibitions from the companies beginnings to the present. Having
received many awards over the past century and a half, the
Cerveny line is considered for their rich tone, power and
flawless workmanship. In 1948 Cerveny was incorporated into
the state enterprise of AMATI-Kraslice, and now is owned by
Denak Ltd, in addition to the AMATI-Kraslice line. As with AMATI
instruments, the Cerveny line is the perfect equilibrium of technological
advances and hand workmanship. Cerveny is quite possibly the finest
producer of rotary valve instruments in the world.
