The Murrey River from Wodonga to Mildura

A couple of old paddle steamers at Echuca, the Adelaide on the left was built in 1886.

The Rothbury entering Lock 11 at Mildura, the locks hold 1,000,000 gallons of water!

The weirs were installed on the river n the 1920s, the water drops 3.7m here.

The Town of Burra

We left the Murrey as it headed South to Adelaide and we headed west, we stayed the night at Burra which was a mining town established in the early 1800s. We booked in to the restored miner cottages which were built around 1850, unusually for Australia they were built of stone.
