The Executive Board

Sam Vitello was the product of the improbable union of an Italian father from Manhattan and a Jewish mother from the suburbs of Chicago. After graduating the prestigious Roslyn Middle School, Vitello realized he wanted to do public service. Freshman year, Vitello worked on Roslyn High School's south side, working to end disease, prejudice and ignorance. These months gave Vitello a deep connection to the people of the community and taught him how to organize. The next year, however, Vitello realized that his future lay in Model Congress. Suffering a humiliating defeat for the board his sophomore year, Vitello became despondent, but his fortunes turned the next year, however, when he was selected to speak at the 2008 Penn Model Congress. It was there that his eloquent speaking style thrust him to great honors and boosted him to club-renowned. Now in his fourth year of Model Congress, Vitello will surely bring a change we can believe in. He also likes Barack Obama.
Boo quotes..
Geetika Rudra is now a junior and serving her second year on the Executive Board. She began her Model Congress career as a freshman and has since spent almost every Friday afternoon in room 203. When not debating bills, Geetika does work, work, and more work. However, she always makes time to watch Grey's Anatomy. Her other favorite tv shows are Scrubs, Gossip Girl, and Family Guy. Her favorite reads are the New York Times and the New Yorker. She tries to go to the movies as much as possible and her (current) favorite movie is The Royal Tennenbaums (although the Dark Knight is way up there, too). Geetika's goal in life is to rule her own tiny planet where everything is purple, the weather is always partly cloudy, and everybody has high speed internet. DON'T be afraid to talk to her about anything; Geetika will gladly answer any questions you may have.

"JD: You're not aware of an underground canal system beneath the hospital, are you? I think I saw a manatee.

Janitor: Was his name Julian?

JD: We didn't exchange pleasantries.

Janitor: That was Julian."

Olivia Conetta is now a junior in her third year of Model Congress. For her, a Friday devoid of MoCo is not a Friday. She enjoys a healthy dosage of debate each week. In her free time, of which she does not have much, Olivia cultivates a large collection of music (Radiohead, Bright Eyes, and Beirut are favorites), feeds her obsession with linguistics and the Spanish language, reads (her favorite book is "1984"), and takes naps. Feel free to approach her with questions or concerns regarding Model Congress, school, or pretty much anything; she wants to help you.
"A witty saying proves nothing."

After two exciting years in Model Congress, Kevin Xu is thrilled to be a part of the Executive Board! Known for speeches characterized by Chinese proverbs and fueled by his distinctive Lady Liberty allegory, Kevin is very passionate and candid about his strong views on foreign policy and health care. He strives to introduce new arguments into debate with fiery intensity and heartfelt rhetoric. When Kevin finds spare time, he plays Baroque (sometimes pop, rock and hip-hop) tunes on the cello (he can play anything upon picking up a melody) and hones his Chinese poker skills (theyre improving). Kevin likes modern classical music (Debussy, Rachmaninoff), but he also listens to Coldplay, the Beatles and Chinese pop. Feel free to ask Kevin anything about speech making, bill writing, current events, school, etc. He really enjoys helping others!

"Ye huo shao bu jin, chun feng chui you sheng."
-Bai Ju Yi (ask Xu what this means)
