Here are some helpful hints on maintaining a happy, healthy dog.
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principle difference between a dog and a man. - Mark Twain
Happiness is a warm puppy.  ---Charles Shultz
Interact with puppies for good socialization skills. This will teach good behavior.
Use proper collars and leashes to insure the saftey of both your pet and other animals as well as people.
Exchange improper toys, ie. your good Sunday shoes, with suitable toys. This will show your dog what belongs to him/her and what belongs to you.
Proper grooming keeps your dog healthly and happy. Would you want to be dirty, matted, and  flee infested ?
Feed your dog what it needs. There are many different dog foods on the market. Ask your vet if you have questions on which food is best for your dog.
Exercise and a proper diet will keep your dog trim and fit. An overweight dog is more likely to have  health problem. Older dogs expecially need to stay on a good lean food to prevent excessive weight gain.
Be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your dog. It's a fact of life that when a dogs gotta go they gotta go! Leaving the suprise for someone else only makes dogs and us as owners look bad.
Remember your dog is a part of the family. Treat them with respect and they will respect you. Dogs are faithful and true, do not break that trust. Show your dog how much they mean to you everyday. Hug them, rub them, talk to them. You will find they give you a hundred times more love and affection back.
