If you’re like me, you’re sick to death of all the
pop ups you can get while surfing the net. The majority of
these pop ups stem from spyware which are installed on your computer without
you even knowing. How do you feel
about these adware, spyware programs that can keep track of all your moves
online? Nervous, angry, scared? This is where Aluria Software’s Spyware
Eliminator comes in!
This software is wonderful for finding spyware,
adware, and keyloggers that are installed on your PC. It can prevent credit
card theft, protect your privacy and erase your history files from unwanted
viewing. It has a very user friendly
interface. After you install and open, the program will automatically check for
definition updates. After you’ve done this and installed anything new, you will
be prompted to run a scan. You can chose to run a full scan or select to run a
specific wizard.
The Easy Clean wizard will take you through the steps
to clean your system. It brings up a box that contains various files on your PC
that you can select or deselect to be scanned.
The Prevention wizard will take you through the steps
to secure your system from known spyware. It blocks known ActiveX spyware from
loading. It will also restrict some IP ranges from your browser. This will stop
certain sites from loading and displaying therefore, preventing spyware installations
to your computer.
The Easy Scan wizard gives you options to select for
what you’d like scanned on your system: check for spyware cookies, check your
registry, scan all drives and check your computer’s memory for running
programs.
There are several options you can choose to custom
fit your scans. You can choose to put certain files in the exclusion list and
they will be skipped in future scans. You can use the rollback feature to go
back and restore a file that has been deleted.
Don’t you just hate when you’re surfing and all of a
sudden, your homepage has been reset to some ridiculous page that you would
NEVER visit, let alone use as your homepage? This is called hijacking. With
Spyware Eliminator, you have the option to enter the address of your chosen
homepage and the software will make sure all references to your page are set
correctly.
After you’ve set up your options and completed a
scan, you will see all the spyware listed with codes of severity from severe to
low beside them. If you click on a spyware file, it will give you a definition
of what it is and where it’s from. It will tell you what the purpose of the
spyware is, such as, tracking your moves on the
internet.
I have tried other software like Lavasoft Ad-Aware. I
found Aluria’s Spyware Eliminator to be much more thorough in finding all the
spyware secretly hiding on my computer. I highly recommend this software to
anyone that wants to keep their personal
information, passwords, surfing habits, pretty much everything you do
with your computer, from being seen, stolen or tracked. It’s VERY much worth
