Personal Organizational Place
Dear Parents,
One of our goals for this year is to help students to become better organized. Each teacher does this in a number of different ways. One new strategy that the intermediate teachers have been working on is to implement a place where students can go in order to finish assignments. We are calling this place "The Personal Organizational Place" or POP. POP will be in session every day during the lunch hour in Mr. Bradshaw?s room. POP will also be offered after school from 2:30- 3:10. The after school schedule is as follows: |
Monday Mr. Bradshaw's room Tuesday Mr. Stuerle's room Wednesday Laidlaw's room Thursday Mr. Cheater's room |

During POP students will be provided with a quiet, supervised classroom where they can complete assignments, read, study etc. This area is not a place for socializing or "just hanging out". While the students are there it is expected that they will be spending their time productively. POP is for any student in Grades 4-6. Some students may attend POP on a voluntary basis while others will be required to go. Priority will be given to students who have assigned tasks from their teacher. Students without assigned tasks from their teacher may be asked to go home if there are too many students who want to attend POP on that day. If your child is required to go to POP their teacher will fill out a form which indicates what assignment(s) they are to do. They will then give that form to the supervising teacher. If your child is unable to attend POP that day they will bring the POP form home and ask you to sign it as "the supervising teacher". If your child attends POP they will be required to contact you so that you know why they will be late from school. If your child attends POP it is understood that transportation back home will be the parent's responsibility as the second bus leaves before POP is finished. |
