Art News - Well, I'm not as happy with the little mermaid now as I was before the "incident", but I think she turned out alright.   I've been busy making new polymer items with a new technique that I am trying out today.  I asked to be a product tester over at www.sculpey.com when I saw they were requesting testers.  They have ALOT more going on than just plain white clay nowadays.  I found they had translucent clays and a liquid that can handle colored pencil transfers which make stained glass looking items.  They have metallic clays, colors, tools.  Wow.  I have been totally out of this loop!  It gave me alot of ideas that I've only just started on today.

In addition to the Woolitures and portfolio that is available to look at in Byers America Feed Store in Byers, here, I have another portfolio now available in the Strasburg Vet office.

I have not been able to attend the Strasburg and Parker Farmer's Markets and set up booths each weekend like I planned, due to big car repairs.  I literally finished my last payment on the big differential job when the front end went out.  So, MAYBE by the end of summer I'll be able to get to those Farmer's Markets.

I have several Woolitures that I am working on as well.  I had put them aside for a while, but I plan on resuming all work tomorrow.  The Cao D'Agua is almost complete.  I just need to add the toes and pads on the feet.  I'll get a picture up here when he's all ready to go.

Ranch News - We have sheared two sheep now.  Pedro and Wingtip are looking good!  We got another 50# dog food bag full of wool off Pedro.  He was so embarassed that he ran into the corner of the shelter and stayed there the rest of the day.  After that, he realized how great he felt and now he's like a spring lamb.  Raymie will take a bit of extra help since he is blind and won't understand what is going on with his first shearing.  But, once he understands it, I know he'll be glad for it.

I had this flower that grew up a foot tall and before it put on a bud, the sheep ran by and ate the top off.  That was year one.  Year two, my husband accidentally weed whacked it right before it budded.  It FINALLY budded this year.  I nervously waited for another month before it decided to make it's dramatic entry into the world the other day.  It was worth the wait.  I think it's a lily and it is VIVID.  I'll add the picture in a bit.

The wheat harvest is either done or still going on for farmers out here.  It's a GREAT year.  One guy, (actually he's my car mechanic whose family owns 3000 acres of wheat) said this is the most bushels per acre they've had in five years!  I'm SO glad the farmers out here are being blessed.  It's been a rough five years of drought.  Our neighbor across the road also has thousands of acres, some of it devoted to wheat.  His is still partly green.  I'm hoping to be able to go see that harvest when it's time.
