Personalized Soft Felt Wool Sculptures for YOU of YOUR pets!
Hello!   Thanks for stopping in. :)

I live out on a small farm on the eastern plains of beautiful Colorado.  We have llamas, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens and some wildlife that share the ranch with us.

I love to create art.  I have a variety of outlets.  I sculpt, paint and draw.  My favorite subjects are beloved animals that have touched someone's life.

My favorite medium right now is making portrait sculptures for people of those special animals in their lives.  I needlefelt cleaned, carded wool rovings (in the stage just before it is twisted into yarn) into wool sculptures.  I do not use fillers, forms, or armitures.  Each one is all wool, except for beads for eyes and polymer clay that I sculpt and handpaint for hooves or horns.  I also make sculptures with soldate clay in the kiln and polymer clay magnets and sculptures.  I am working on making and offering jewelry one of a kind sculptures as well, eventually.

If you would like to commission a Wool Sculpture Portrait of  a special animal in your life or for a gift, there are three sizes and three different prices of custom work as the top three items listed.  I will make any animal in any size.  I find, though, that I am able to add more detail into the medium and large size.  But I do my best to create a lasting beautiful keepsake no matter what size.

These make great gifts, ornaments or memorials, (I can even add a snip of your pet's locks, to make it a very special keepsake for you.)

I also offer custom hand sculpted, handpainted magnets of your special pets.  Every piece I make is an original and ONE OF A KIND.  I do not use forms, or copy them.

For the wool felt sculptures I like to use our own sheep and llama wools when I can.  Sometimes I buy rovings from alpaca, llama or sheep farms.  I mostly use natural colors whenever possible as my palette.  Occasionally, I may need to dye the wool, such as for a macaw wooliture.  I think it is so cool to be creating one of the world's oldest textiles in a new 3-D form while using such a new technique.  Needlefelting sculptures has only been discovered in the 1980's.  So, many artists are just discovering this new medium and it is really exploding!  It's very addictive.  It's a very forgiving medium in that you can scissor off what doesn't work and add on at any time!  If you get a chance to try it, you should give it a go.  You might be surprised what latent creativity bubbles to the surface!

WHAT IS A WOOLITURE? That's what I call the wool sculptures that I make.  Lil Dittos are the wool sculpture portraits of specific beloved pets or animals.

Animals touch our lives in so many ways, I feel very blessed to live where I do and to be able to create art that honors our connections.
