Zechs Marquise/ Milliardo Peacecraft

Treizes relationship with this man is an interesting one, to say the least. Theyve known each other since childhood and were apparently very close friends, at the very least. Many people, myself included, like to think that they might perhaps be more than friends.

For one thing, Treize is one of the few people who know of Zechs dual identities. This speaks of a very close friendship and trust between the two of them, which is something that really isnt in either mans nature. They are both extremely dedicated to their work, to the point that they ignore the rather obvious affections of Une and Noin. Zechs in particular is always focused on his goals to the point that he ignores almost everything else. The fact that he kept in contact with Treize after the fall of the Sanc Kingdom (basically the only way Treize could have known about the two identities) shows just how close they are.

There is also the fact the Treize almost clings to Zechs throughout the series. Okay, perhaps cling is the wrong word, but he is very attached to Zechs. Several times throughout the series Zechs tells Treize to stop following him around. Baring romantic interest, Treize seems to see Zechs as the ideal soldier. Zechs is amazingly skilled in battle and is determined to do what he must in order to achieve his goals. At the same time however, he is not emotionally detached from the war. Even if it is an unconscious act, Zechs plays out the part of Treizes ideal soldier almost perfectly. Thus, Treize is of course very attracted to Zechs.

The fact that their lives end up taking very different paths doesnt seem to dissuade Treize from thinking of Zechs as a friend. Right up until the very end Treize thinks of Zechs as a friend and its Zechs who Treize is waiting for on the other side. Of course part of this is because both men are expecting to die that day, in fact they welcome their deaths. None the less the words still show that Treize cares about Zechs a lot.
