Thursday

Thursday morning we didn't make it out of bed till 8:30 and we left at 9:30. It was a 4 hour drive through the middle of nowhere Texas. (see pictures). My dad bought Alex and I a big can of tinkertoys for some reason. It was probably some sort of "have kids soon" hint. But Kathleen, Steven, Alex, and I played with the toys for an hour or soo (also see pictures) Did you guys know that they now make tinkertoys bigger than they used to? I guess they were a choking hazard or something.

So, then our cousins, Lloyd & Allison and Aunt Marilyn arrived. Aunt Liz and Uncle Charlie were already there. We ate the yummy dinner that Mona prepared. The turkey was great, and the sweet potatoes were awesome. They had nuts in them, and marshmellows melted on top.

After dinner we all watched football (yay) and then the aunts and cousins left (they live in the Dallas area, 2 hours away from where we were) and Dad, Mona, KK, Steven, Alex and I played a 6 hour game of Trivial Pursuit. I gave up at midnight with one pie piece missing. Alex

Friday

Friday morning everyone got up and went fishing at our ranch except me. I got up and showered. This house is super old, and the shower is in the laundry room, which is out on the back porch. So I had to go across the dirty porch barefoot in the cold to get to the shower!

I gave in to my anal retentiveness and cleaned the kitchen counter since I figured we were the ones who messed that up in the first place. It took me an hour to do dishes and wipe down the counter. I'm telling you, my dad's side of the family does not know how to throw things away. There was an asprin bottle, and lotion on the windowsill that I know have been there for 10 years!

After that I watched a show on Jackie Onassis on PBS till everyone got back. They caught a few fish but nothing worth keeping, so we had pizza for lunch instead. We watched UT kick A&M's butt on the football field, then packed up and headed home. My brother led, Alex drove my car, and I rode with my sister all back to Austin. When we got to my house we just watched tv.

Saturday

Saturday we slept very late. Alex got up and ran some errands. Mom came at about 1 and she, KK, Alex and I went shopping. I made Alex go since he wasn't going to be there Sunday. He was a pretty good sport about it. We went to Garden Ridge, World Market, and Sam's. At Sam's we found what I want for Christmas - an electronic keyboard. At one time I wanted a piano, but they are so $$. Sam's had a keyboard for $300 that was awesome! We were gonna get it then but then realized there was nowhere to put it in the car with 4 people so we decided to get it later.

When we got home we set up the tree and decorations. Then we were going to watch the UT basketball game. Devin and April called inviting us out, but since we had company we invited them over instead. It was a lot of fun! We ate Chinese food, and drank apple martinis and the boys watched the game while the girls sat and talked. Then we all played this game we have called called Hear Me Out. It's made by the same people who made Cranium. It was a lot of fun, and I won!

April wasn't feeling good so at around 10 Devin took her home. Right after they left Melissa called inviting us out and I told her Devin just left and it was probably too late to do anything. But then Alex said, no, Devin's coming back, so I called Melissa back and invited them over. So soon after that we had Me & Alex, Kathleen, Steven, Mom, Devin, Jace, Josh, & Melissa ALL in my house, drinking and having a good time. All our friends were so suprised that Mom was so cool. Then, we all played a game of Trivial Pursuit, but with teams. The Dream Team of my brother (who always wins), Devin (the chemist) and Jace (with a history degree) kicked our asses.

Alex went to bed at 2 since he had to drive to Houston the next morning, and everyone finally filtered out at around 2:30.
Sunday

Alex got up and left for Houston at about 8 am. I got up too and since I was up and I'm a freak, I cleaned my whole living room and kithen. (they were pretty trashed from the night before) Then at 9 I crawled back in bed and got back up at 11 with my sister and mom. They were pretty suprised that the house was clean!

We all just bummed around and got ready, and KK had to leave to drive back to Lubbock. Mom and I went to Target, Big Lots, and Hancock Fabrics. The fabric I wanted for living room curtains was 25% off, so I went ahead and bought it. then we just kinda hung around the house for a little bit.

My brother came over at 9, and Alex got back from Houston right about the same time. We watched TV together for a few hours, then Steven left and we all went to bed. Mom went home the next morning.
