Mary Tadd
General Notes:
EXPLANATION OF RESEARCH - carried out by Jean (another Harper descendant) in Australia
Before about 1800, father's names of bride and groom were not shown on the marriage register. In addition to this, the mother's name was not often listed at the time of a child's baptism.
Using Bishops Transcripts (BTs) for North Bradley and the surrounding area it is thought that the line of ancestry has been found. However, BTs are vague and often difficult to read. The persons listed existed, but if there was more than one person with the same name living in North Bradley at the time it would be impossible to know which child belonged to which.
Mary married Richard Harper, son of Arthur Harper and Unknown. (Richard Harper was christened on 20 Aug 1706 in North Bradley, Wiltshire and was buried on 18 Mar 1743 in North Bradley, Wiltshire.)
