Theirs is a short but
strong love affair. Unfortunately, their families were fierce fiends and could
in no way tolerate the young people's, Romeo's and Juliet's, love affair.
Still, the two lovers found a priest who secretly announced them man and wife (just
like St.Valentine had done so often). The priest also tried to help them bring
the whole story to a happy end by a trick, but this went terribly wrong. As a
result, Romeo and Juliet killed themselves.
Gone with the wind
- Margaret Mitchell
Big love story about
a Southern girl and an audacious man. The background story is the American
Civil War. Here, too, there is no happy end. "Gone with the wind" on
celluloid with Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable is the ultimate love movie. There
exists a sequence of both novel and movie that never were a real success. But
I'm sure it won't take long until somebody composes a musical or so...

The novel as well as
the movie, which by the way causes everybody tears and sobbing without end, is
about two young lovers that find their way to each other in spite of their
different social status. Finally, she dies of leukemia. He's left behind alone.
