Title: Rain Author: Rosekk2000 Rating: PG-13 but not really Disclaimer: I do not now nor have I ever owned them. Sob, Sob, Cry. Angel sat and watched the rain cascade down the window pane. As it made little trails down the glass he wondered to himself just how long it had been since he had enjoyed a stroll in a rain storm. Feeling the icy cold drops as they pounded into his skin. One decade maybe two. After several more minutes watching it pour down Angel decided that now was as good a time as any to relive a small piece of childhood. Glancing around the room he spied Cordelia sitting at her desk her head stuck in sum magazine or other. Feeling Slightly embarrassed by the childish behavior he was about to indulge in he decided to invent some lame story about getting something from his car and grabbed his trench coat as he headed for the door. Pulling his coat tightly about himself he stepped out into the brisk night air. The wind rushed by blowing a few moist drops of rain in under the canopy outside the hotel door. When a few drops landed on his hand and he smiled. Looking around to make sure noone was watching he slipped his coat off and tucked it neatly behind the bench at the door. Then glancing about one more time he stepped out into the rain. Lightening flashed in the night sky above as he walked but he payed it no attention. Rather he basked in the feeling of the cold rain as it soaked the black cotton shirt he was wearing. It hung on his body clinging to him heavy with the rain reminding him of days no of years long gone. Stopping in the middle of a vacant lot about six blocks from the hotel Angel turned his face skyward. Drop after drop of rain landed on him slicking his hair down to his head then rolling down his cheeks, over his soft sensuous lips, and down his chin until they finally disappeared into the neck of his rain soaked shirt. The gentle caress of the rain seemed to be washing away all the darkness and horror that had been his existance for so long. Helping to cleanse his body as well as his soul. In a moment of fancy he reach down and peeled his soaked shirt from his rain slicked body. His chest glistened in the moon light and his felt his nipples begin to harden under mother nature gentle caress as the rain found its mark landing upon his pale flesh and causing goose bumps to rise up on his skin. Even a little shiver ran down his spine as the storms intensity increased. Angel laughed it had been to long since there had been even a small moment of peace within him and he was going to enjoy it to its fullest. Throwing his head back and spreading his arms wide he offered his body to the storm. His eyes closed tight he began to feel the burden of his past lighten if only for a few moments. The road before him didn't seem so long and winding and he was at peace with himself. "You lost mister?" he heard a little voice say pulling him from the place of tranquility he had found in the storm. Opening his eyes his gaze scanned downward coming to rest on the tiny frame of a ragged little girl. She was very small frail was perhaps a better word for it and she shivered as the rain soaked her plastering both her dress and her long brown pigtails to her body. "Cause if you are I bet my daddy could help you find your way." she continued a sweet little smile lighting up her face as she pointed in the general direction of an old station wagon sitting on blocks in the back of the lot. He stared at the car for a moment seeing two or three people huddled in its confines and he sighed. Reaching into his pocket Angel pulled a small roll of bills from jeans and handed it to the little girl. "No, I'm not lost. Not anymore thanks to you." he said. She took the money and rewarded him with another little smile. Gently he placed his hand on her head "You had better go get in out of the rain." He told her waving in the direction of the old car. He watched as she ran to the car and once again he realized that there was a lot that needed to be done in this world. Demons, vampires, and hell Wolfram & Hart weren't even the biggest problem. He stood for serveral minutes letting the rain pelt him as he thought of the task ahead. Turning to head back to the hotel he didn't return to his normal dark self but rather he lifted his face skyward once more and thanked whatever God that reigned above for the soul cleansing power of the storm.
