One Moment By: Lizzy RATED: G Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer and make no claims to. It is owned by Joss Whedon and company. I'm making no money off of this. Note: Takes place in the second season. Note II: Not beta'd. Spoilers: I Only Have Eyes For You Author's Note: I thought up this fic several months ago when this episode aired in repeats, but I never found the time to write it up. I finally did, and I have to admit this is one of the strangest things I've written, in my opinion. I do hope you like it. Enjoy! Summary: The touch. The feel. Then it was all destroyed by one simple word. :::::::::::::::::::::::::: The souls began to make their exit from the host bodies, joining and mingling as they ascend into another realm of consciousness, finally at peace. The host bodies did not react at first, remaining very still. Then, slowly, consciousness began to leak back to the forefront of their minds, and they renewed what they were doing with the unmistakable passion ones has when they've been long-denied something. The souls, as happy as they were to be reunited, were saddened at the sight before them. They knew what was to come, but wanted the two soul mates "even if one was missing part of the soul, though a fragment did remain within the shell"to remain united and happy once again. :::::::::::::::::::::::::: Angelus could feel the soft sensation of her lips on his, but did not comprehend it at first. Instead, he simply remained in that position, reveling in the feeling that was undeniably her. The feeling of the entity leaving his body was surreal, tingling his nerve endings and leaving him with an elated, indescribable feeling. The only thought in his mind was the position he was in. In many respects, he was being held captive by the Slayer's soft lips and feather-like touch. It renewed an ache within him that he had felt many times before in the privacy of his room at the mansion or when watching her sleep. A thought suddenly possessed him, though he wasn't quite sure where it came from. He moved his lips against hers slightly, unsure of how she would react. To his great relief, she responded in kind, feverishly attacking his mouth, claiming it as her own. He reveled in the feeling, enjoying the passion that only a Slayer could exude. They remained like that for several seconds, until the need for air overrode the need for each other, though there was a time when they felt the would die without the other. In that brief interlude, she whispered a name he had cursed many times over in private, as he was the reason for Angelus's unhealthy obsession with the woman before him. "Angel?" she questioned quietly, hope filling her voice. At the sound of that horrid name's utterance, Angelus jolted out of her grip and left her standing there. His heart, however miniscule, screamed for him to go back to her, but he refused to be that weak. He refused to believe that it could work between a Slayer and one of the most abhorred vampires of all time. :::::::::::::::::::::::::: The souls, which had now joined to become one, were terribly sad to see the two torn apart, but rejoiced that, even for a moment, the two had been reunited. And they would be damned if they didn't help in the cosmic efforts to reunite the pair. :::::::::::::::::::::::::: The End. Help humanity; feed the Lizzar.
