| I owe my love of rabbits to the GREATEST man EVER... my Grandpa, Leroy Adams. |

| My name is Amber Lutz. I'm 15 years old. I own Rose Hill Hollands. Rose Hill Hollands is an ARBA registered rabbitry. I'm members of the ARBA, HLRSC, FFA and 4-H. All my life I have had animals. There has never been a time I was without them. When I was 6 years old my Grandfather bought me a lop rabbit and an outside hutch as a summer present. The lop was a doe whom I named SkyDancer (after my favorite toy). She was chinchilla colored. I think she was a Mini-Lop.A few months later I wanted SkyDancer to have babies. So my Grandpa asked my uncle (he's really my cousin) and asked him if he could breed one of his bucks to SkyDancer. He said "yes" and that same week she was bred. She had 8 babies. A month or two later I chose to give away SkyDancer and her babies. My Grandpa had bought me a horse. I didn't have time for the rabbits anymore. Then in the early summer of 2001 on a local small animal sale I bid on and won two mixed breed rabbits. Our local fair was the next month so I entered them (not knowing our fair doesn't judge mixed rabbit breeds). A local breeder who was in charge of the fair rabbits' contacted me and told me that pets weren't allowed. He then sold me a Chocolate Polish Buck who I showed in the fair. After the fair my love of rabbits grew and I bought 2 Holland Lops from him. I also bought an American Fuzzy Lop at the fair. Since then I have had Polish, American Fuzzy Lops, Jersery Woolies, and Holland Lops. I bred Woolies most of the 3 years I have been breeding and showing. I couldn't understand why I kept sneazing around them...I am alergic to the wool breeds. So now I'm getting into Holland Lops again. |
