Pointe Shoe Reviews |

(from my experience) |

Bloch Serenade / Serenade Strong- These were my first shoes. I've had some 5 pairs of these, and though the box is rather uncomfortable, the shank goes nicely into my arch. The shoes are durable-- even in a regular shank I get much more wear out of them than I do other shoes. |
Sansha 303.5- These are special make of Sansha that I got from Danny's Warehouse (which unfortunatley doesn't carry them anymore). I loved them-- the box was "smooth" and didn't irritate my toes when i danced without toe pads, and they 3/4 shank accentuated my arch beautifully. Unfortunatley, the shank broke after a very short time. |
PrimaSoft Gala- These were ok, but felt rather "clunky" to dance in. I wouldn't get them again for this reason. |

Grishko Ulanova I- At first I had difficulty with these because I wasn't used to a small platform and had trouble balancing on it. Once I got used to the shoe, however, I found they were great to dance in: They accentuate arch and are very supportive. |

Capezio Aerial- These had a nice look, were easy to dance in, and were nice and quiet-- only lasted me 3 classes. :-( |
Freed Classic- I LOVED these! I first had the P maker, which was PERFECT, but they don't make it any more! I then tried B Maker, which was nice enough but not quite the same (they looked boxy on my feet). Still-- great shoes for performance. :-) |

Grishko Elite- I don't know what to say about these, because the nails popped out of the shank after y classes and I had to return them. They REALLY hurt--I couldn't wear them without toe padding (I don't like to wear padding in my pointe shoes), but I think that had to do with my foot shape. However, I've heard GREAT reviews from other students about them! |

So Danca Performance- These are a clone of the Prima Soft Gala, only the sole is made of wood instead of suede. Same shank, same construction, same look-- the only difference was that the wooden sole was very slippery. They were okay shoes, I don't kow if I'd get them again just because they were so slippery. One thing I did like was that the satin never wore all the way off the platform by itself. :-) |

So Danca Pas D'Action- I loved these shoes. They were very supportive, they looked nice on, are GREAT for the arch (makes any arch look nice), and didn't require lots of breaking in. They have a 3/4 shank, and were very comfortable. I would definatley get these again. :-) |

Bloch Synergy- UGH! They were hard shoes--hence, supposed to last. However, after taking me twice as long to break in, the shoes died after three weeks of wear (at the time, I was going through a pair of medium-shank shoes once a month)! Not to mentin, they looked awful on my feet and were a strange tan color. Yeeeccchhh! |

Chacott Veronese II Hard- These are pretty to look at, break in easily, and are very comfortable. I found I didn't even need to tape my toes with the Veronese. The shank is soft but supportive. The only problem was that even the Hard Shanks only lasted me two weeks. |

Grishko 2007- The 2007 is my current favorite pointe shoe. The 3/4 shank is easy to break in and quickly conforms to my feet. The shoes are meant to look flattering on low arches, soif you have a high arch your feet will look gorgeous! The shoes usually last me about two weeks of rehearsals and classes. |

Grishko Vagonova- The shank broke after only a week. :-( However, the V Vamp gives the foot a nice line, and the box is very comfortable. |
