The storyline for Walking Wounded begins two weeks after the end of
Weiss Kreuz (the original anime) and will serve as an alternate season three. The Weiss boys have already fished themselves out of the drink, along with Schwartz (c'mon, you didn't think they were really dead, did you?) and have tired of doing the vigilante thing, setting up shop and ostensible operations in Kyoto.
Meanwhile Manx is now in charge of Kritiker's brand spanking new Kyoto office (convenient, yes?), and with Burman at her side is struggling to rebuild the crippled anti-terrorist organization in the wake of Esset's attempts to thin the ranks. She has made it her personal business to see that Ran's 'final wishes' are followed, and to assure the safety of Fujimiya Aya-chan and her friend Tomoe Sakura is about to send another Kritiker operative, one Izumi Sena, to watch over her at the old Koneko.
Schwartz is still MIA. No one really thinks they're gone for good, but they haven't made a peep since the showdown with Weiss.
And of course, Esset is pulling itself back together. Because, y'know, you can't kill evil. Not even with a two-by-four.
