Changeling
from The Ever-Fortuitous Chronicles of the Most Blessed Barony of Shining Waters : being a lengthy history of dark and brooding theme, suitable only for the entertainment of the most depraved and unmentionable of gothic minds, with addenda and explication by the authour. by Archemides Padopolous, pooka scribe.

[Note from editor: Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!]

A new Eshu arrived at Court, bringing fair tidings of places far, and a found and abandoned freehold near the Dark Citadel atop the Hill. Some attempt to speak with darkling and doomed and bitter shades by a Sidhe of Right and Noble Title, who knew the spirit to be rightly subservient to those who Rule, resulted in a Shadowy Force snatching away a lesser minion for no reason rightfully given or rightfully seen. Even a Fiona would be quaking in their long-topped boots, leaving those present curled into little balls of despair. Unsure what to do with the empty Freehold that lies so close to danger, it remains lost and longing... yet there seems to be some kinder, Motherly force at work as well.

One of the Rarest of Kith, long thought lost by those with memory, a Ghille Dhu sits quiet and lonesome within this Barony. In Summer's flood his joy is boundless, and trouble free. He tried to save Point Pleasant Park from the problem of foreign beetle infestation, as foreigners are not much liked by him or his. Unfortunately, as he did not have the masterous Dark Cantrips of Eiluned's style to aid in his endeavour, he decided to affect people trying to save the park, instead. In going to bless them, he needed two bunks - one required a true name {a simple thing at worst} and the other, a picture {most grievous at best}. Alas, the tides of fortune!, he met the person in charge of project claiming to be a reporter from the Coast. This "person" in charge was angered, remembering an unfavourable article about him in that newspaper and kicked the Green Man out. Giving up is not the way of these Kiathin, no! He hid around a corner and played Paparazzi - flashed him when he came out. However his charming self had done not well, for the man was now an Enemy, and far beyond the reach of our Green Man's magics. At the last, the walked the Satyr path and used liqueur to ply friendship. Alcohol marks the best of friendships, long lasting and true. Now our Brave and Valiant ghille dhu is working FOR this misbegotten soul, striving against this beetle problem and struggling against the foreign, in an ironic twist.

[Note from editor: I surrender! Make it stop! I cannot tell anymore the truth from the lie! Make it stop! Farshluginer pooka!]

The Baroness Angharadh of House Liam stands as the pinnacle of this Land, her Barony in shining health, herself as ill as wasted water. A blackness dark as pitch crawls from beneath her skin, visible only to Dreaming eyes, yet heroes arrive from distant lands.
The Trollish Giant Northarm lands his mightly form within the Barony, seeking a ghille dhu's child. With Black Ships gone and ghille dhu aplenty, he arrives with pomp and many circumstances - his friends and enemies amongst this Barony are closely run. A child - his child - he claims in return, as summer rolls to autumn, and autumn runs to Dark Days. The child shall rival David ap Ardry ap Gwydion himself, all known seers say, and shall rule a nearby Barony in Wisdom and Glory. Northarm wants merely that which is his own, all know, yet somehow they resist. The birth is omen-free. A pack of great Hounds come to visit the infant at his birth, but they are met by staunch allies as the troll Northarm stands wholly beside the fae of Shining Waters. At last, the rescue done, the Trollish North asks but for what is his. Instead, the brother of Sumac seeks the child. Mortal man and mortal wiles conspire to keep him from his nephew.

This history is continued.
