Changeling
09 August 2001 Player Information Venue Name: Ashes of the Phoenix, CND-003 (Domain of Blood and Silver) Genre: Changeling Contact: Chris Fougere (ADST: Mage/Changeling) [email protected] Place/Time: Unsure as of yet. This venue sheet is mainly to serve as a placeholder until a Changeling venue game starts up Information: Alexander Morningstar is dead, dead, dead. Enough of that old chestnut. His true nature was discovered and he was killed but at a great cost to the cities Kithain. There has been a war going on for the last year in the streets and in the Dreaming. The Mists have covered most of it, but not all. Alexander's troops and those of Count Basil Quickblade have been involved in a prolonged war effort that has only recently seen victory for the enemies of the Winter Court. Freeholds have been destroyed, treasures lost and countless lives ended. Finally Anexander was destroyed by a cold iron dagger, but the forces of Count Basil do not take credit for it. Is there a third faction? Is someone loyal to the count lying? How will this affect the city as it struggles to rebuild? However, Count Basil is not the savior he seems. He is a devout beleiver in the divine right of the Sidhe to rule the Fae. His court has descended into petty squables over what few sources of Glamour Fredericton still has. The lot of the commoner, even those who fought with him in the war, is little better then it was under Alexander. As a warrior, Basil made a great general but as a ruler in "peace" he's saddly lacking. What little he does right as a leader is thanks to his advisor Sir Malvain. What noone knows is that Sir Malvain is of the Unseelie Court himself. It was he who assassinated Alexander, who was becoming too much of a liability. While he may seem sympathetic to the commoner ideals and is often "on their side", he has his own agenda and goals which are anything but altruistic. Storyteller Information Venue Storyteller Name: Chris Fougere Title: Phoenix's Ashes Address: 24 Michael Court, Wassis, NB Phone: (506) 446-9442 Email: [email protected] Passed Thespis (y/n): Yes My policy on characters/influences/items and events or plots from other Chapters or Domains is fairly lenient. Its impossible to think of every possible scenario that could come up but I do have some guidelines. Intrigue (politics and negotiation): 4 Action (combat and challenges): 3 Mystery (enigmas and investigation): 4 Drama (ceremony and characterization): 4 Darkness (probability of player character death or corruption): 4 Indicate the style of play you intend to offer by assigning a number between 1 and 5 to each major aspect of the game, using the following definitions: 1. No Content of this Type 2. Minimal (usually player introduced) 3. Occasional 4. Consistent (available every game) 5. Focus of the Game Player Information Venue Name: Phoenix's Ashes Genre: Changeling Contact: Chris Fougere ([email protected]) Place/Time: To be decided Directions: Depends on where we play, likely the University Theme/Mood: Dark Fantasy Character restrictions: As per the 5.1 rules, characters who have been in the city for a while must explain their actions/positions during the war. Some Kithain, both Noble and Commoner unknowingly supported Alexander and must now deal with the fact that they supported the enemy. Players are free to play either Nobles or Commoners as each character will be making decisions on how they feel about the Count. The Freehold and Trod backgrounds will be closely monitored as those resources are in short supply right now. Proxy rules: As per the 5.1 rules and a written statement that the player accepts that bad things up to and including character death may happen. Travel risks: Dependant on travel method. The Trods here are dangerous, fallen into disrepair and those that remain in good condition are heavily guarded. Challenges: The ST is the final authority on what retests are allowed. Any challenge argued "extensively" will assumed to be relented to, save questions on rules calls until the end of the session. Looting as it were, claiming freeholds (those few that remain). The dreaming in the area is darker, as are the chimera. The city has seen a year or more of constant war and death and that taints the world of the Kithain. There are Dauntain here, brought by Alexander secretly as a weapon against the Count's forces. The main danger though is in choosing the wrong side in a intrigue riddled court. Venue rules: As per the 5.1 and The Shining Host Visiting character/plot policy: Characters will be verified by me before game play. All characters will have up to date experience logs. Anything requiring DST or higher approval will have prove of such. NPCs from outside the Domain will not be allowed unless it is something intregal to the larger chronicle (Kings, Queens etc). All players will have cards denoting the abilities and attributes of any Tresures/Chimera or Companions. I don't mind plotlines from other Domains being mentioned but if it is a major plot I want to see it in advance to avoid any complications in the local game.
