We welcome you to Magnolia Plantation Bordello, owned and operated by La Madame Rose le Cortel Sevigne De'Leon and Terrence De'Leon. The year is 1791, pre civil war in America. The English no longer have their hold on the American colonies. What proper states that exist are split between the union and the confederacy. The Magnolia Plantation is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. A bustling and some what wild , fast growing, port city that banks the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. The population is made of a hodge podge collection from many countries. France, Spain, Italy Ireland, and Germany to name just a few. Though the French are the most common the other nationalities are well represented in numbers. The residents come from all walks of life ranging from royal descent and/or station back in Europe, to common criminals who have come to America to get a new start by choice through indenturment or becoming endentured by the legal authorities and sent to America so serve out their contract. All endentured who arrive in New Orleans will be sold at auction at the auction block on port side right next to the slave market. The labor force is meager thus the indentured are very welcome in New Orleans as are the slaves. Not to mention those who buy a contract on an indentured soul are rewarded with 50 acres of land in addition to gaining a new laborer.
The Plantation is nestled just outside of New Orleans, along the bank of the Mississippi River. It was obtained by Madame Rose through a shrewd business deal, but the up keep and maintaince of such a grand estate proved to be over whelming. To ease the weight of the expenses Madame rose turned the working Plantation into a functioning upper class bordello and social club, which has proven to be very profitable. She, though not considered a respectable woman by many, has high social status amongst the wealthy, politicians, and clergy, due to her continued donations for new public buildings and the church. She even has a repore with the local magistrate because she has taken on so many endentured. So if you visit New Orleans for what ever reason she and her husband Terrence De'Leon are people you would do well to get to know. Many people actually board at the Plantation though their business affairs are in the city.
This is a place where the paths of role play are wide open. You can be from almost any where, of any walk of life, have any sort of back ground and you will be accepted here. ( as long as our character is human ) The roleplay revolves around the Plantation but flows out into the main city, French quarters, dock side, slave and indentured auctions blocks, the marshes, and river side. The times are wild and risque to say the least. There are theives, slave runners, pirates, river rats, gamblers, gypsies, voodoo practioners, common folk, business men/women, people with high social status as well as some who sport royal titles from Europe. This is a time when a mans word was his honor, when men dualed to steele disputes, when the only places women were allowed to publically partake of liquer and such was at a "social club", though most women refrained from going to such places as it could ruin their reputation. Thus why many women and men who visit the Plantation wear nice ornate masks as if to hide who they truly are. Here you can take up residence upon Plantation grounds for a fee of course. To do so allows you to enjoy many of the pleasantries offered there without paying extra. (see our Mansion description for details) There you have it in a nut shell though we have only touched on the surface of what can be found here. We ask that you read our rules before entering and that you take a proper name with ~o~ at the end of it if you come in to observe. Feel free to ask questions of any full member, but please do so in whispers so as not to disrupt any on going role play. Below this introduction you will find an assortment of pictures to help you get a feel for our room. With that said we welcome you to our home. Come and enjoy our southern hospitiality. |
