Fuel's 'Hemorrhage' Hits The Top

(10/25/00, 12 p.m. ET) - Fuel has taken over the Number One spot on Billboard's Modern Rock chart with "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," from its new album, ^^Something Like Human. Singer Brett Scallions told LAUNCH he enjoys it when fans share what the songs mean to them instead of having the inspiration behind the song revealed. As Scallions explained, "Fans get together and they don't know the true interpretation of the song, but they have their own interpretations," he said. "And they'll sit down and start discussing it with each other and they'll give it each other's own interpretations and they'll start going, 'Oh, I understand what you're saying.' Then their whole interpretations start to change, too. And I think that's really fun for a listener, I would think, instead of [guitarist/songwriter] Carl [Bell] or myself blurting out, 'This is what the song's about.' Then that just takes it and puts it on the plateau. Then you can take that song, put it on the shelf, and forget about it."

Fuel is on the road and will make its next appearance on Thursday (October 26) at the Florida Theater in Gainesville.
