Kurt Cobain 1967-1994,
He always said he didn't think that he would live to see 30,and he was right.On April 8th 1994 he was found by an electrician. He was killed by a huge Heroin overdose and a bullet to the head.He died when he was 27 this year on the 20th of February he would be 33.
Brief Bioghraphy
Kurt was born in Aberdeen in the north of America on the west coast. He was a very hyperactive child and found it difficult to sleep and was often still awake at 4 '0 clock in the morning, beacause he was not getting enough sleep he couldn't concentate at school and so was prescribed Morphine to calm him down and to help him sleep.He led a happy childhood, until he was seven and his parents divorced. The song Serve The Servants is about Kurt's parents divorcing. After the divorce he stayed with his mother, but he became withdrawn,quiet and shy and hard to handle. His mother found him to much to deal with and so sent him to with with relatives.Over the next few years he was passed back and forth between relatives.The song Sliver is about this period of his life. Kurt hated school, he felt isolated and didn't have many friends as all the boys in his school were into football, while Kurt prefered singing and painting, not being like the other boys this made him some what of a recluse.For his 14th birthday Kurt was given his first guitar.In 1985 Krist Novoselic and Kurt Cobain met each other, they played in several bands together and finally in 1986 formed Nirvana. There first big hit came with their second album ''Nevermind'' which was certified a gold record. Their first number one was ''smells like teen spirit.'' The song was hailed the anthem of our time and got massive air play on mtv.Nirvana had become celebrity rockers. Kurt had always hated the idea of becoming a mainstream rocker, he prefered playing in small clubs because the atmosphere became more intense than in arena's etc. But because Nirvana enjoyed smashing their guitars and amps etc, they had to play the big stadiums and arenas to be able to pay for all the equipment. At this point Kurt was on a downhill spiral, he started using heavy drugs such as morphine and heroine, he described himself as suicidal, and his cries for help were in the shape of songs and distorted guitars.Even in this difficult time though Kurt found love in the shape of former stripper Courtney Love.On the 24th January Kurt and Courtney were married in Wakkiki, Hawaai. Six months after coutney gave birth to a baby girl, Kurts first child, they named her Frances Bean.
The other members of the band hoped that now Kurt had a family he would settle down and calm down. The third album Nirvana released was Incesticide. It sounded nothing like Nevermind and the style was completly different, this sound was more like the music they had produced in the bleach days. This album was produced to shake off any of Nirvana's false fans they had collected during their nevermind days. They succeeded in doing this. At the begginning of 1993, Nirvana recorded their forth album ''In Utero'' it was to be their last album. It was recorded in two weeks but it didn't come out for another six months because of a song on the album called ''i hate myself and want to die''.Rhis song showed the fact that Kurtwas still suicidal and needed help.In july 1993 ,Kurt overdosed on heroin and went into hospital,days later he discharged himself. Coutney threatened to divorce him if he didn't get himself sorted out.So Kurt went into rehab but he left saying ''this wasn't the place for him.'' The final concert the band played was on the 24th of march in Munich. On the 8th of April Kurt was found dead.
