J. de Guzman (kdpp) Other Concepts: MRS Produced by: ROSAS ENTERTAINMENT - FILMS Co-Producers: Cherish Chastain, Paul Hutchinson Shigeo Nakamoto Executive Prodsucer: Ma. Rosario R. Suntay Genre: Drama The story revolves around the plight of street children abandoned by their parents or, in the case of the main characters, not only abandoned by their mother but also ran away from an abusive father, who has traumatized the youngest, Michelle, into an emotionless state. Clarissa and her siblings -- Myko and Michelle -- together with Arnie, face an equal challenge in maintaining order among the other street children. The children try to survive by different means: selling all kinds of goods that could earn them some living; while Arnie's proteges steal from snatchers and other bad elements of society to help the group with their daily needs. Before long Arnie, Clarissa and the rest of the street children get involved with Rigor and his goons when they snatch smuggled diamonds. This leads to the street children to be kept in protective custody by SP0 RIC Santos at Lola Minda's, his landlady's place. At this point, Ric's fiancee, Emily, discovers the God-given talent of the street children that leads to a recording contract. Celina, mother of Clarissa and siblings, sees one of their performances on TV, and invites the three to stay at her new house, togetherwith her new husband. Rigor and his goons trace the street children's whereabouts because of the same television performance. Chaos ensues when the goons track them at Lola Minda's. However, the goons attack is foiled. The street children are now performing more openly and their group becomes more popular. A sad ending follows when Berto, the father of Clarissa, Myko and Michelle reappears in a hospital. This leads to Michelle regaining normalcy when Berto dies. Celina asks forgiveness from her children and wants them back with her. In the end, Clarissa and Arnie wed. The street children is able to elevate the quality of their life using the musical talent that God has given them. Most importantly, they choose to continue their education for a much better future - a message that the movie conveys to children: that there is hope in this life and God helps those who help themselves. |
