RACIAL CONFLICTS
[in response to racism depicted in the early 90s]

Somewhere in the world, somewhere in this place,
Someone is being punished, because they are different in their race.
I thought this conflict between us had already made amends,
But I was wrong seems like this form of discrimination will never end.

Everywhere I look, everywhere I see,
People are discriminated; I can never be just me.
Just because I look different doesnt mean Im strange,
But your thoughts about me show that some things never change.

We are no longer punished for who we are, but the feelings still remain.
Some people will still feel that way about ussome thoughts have stayed the same.
We cannot hope for peace if we cannot get along;
But we can try to change it if we keep on staying strong.

Dont judge me because Im different; dont judge me by my race,
Dont ignore me because Im unexpected, for everyone is unique; everyone has their place.
Think about what it would feel like if I did the same to you
You wouldnt want to be alone; you wouldnt know what to think or do.

So our world and what weve made it has turned into something worse,
If only we can change it; if only something can break the curse.
We can bring back the peace we once had if we unite and become a family;
And maybe, just maybe, we can restore our hope, our love, our humanity.
