Jonathan was the first Beal to come to Lee County from Bedford County VA in the
1800's. He settled on Martin's Creek, Rose Hill, Virginia. He and his son operated
a forge where they made iron ore. The Bales Brothers brought Iron making from
Pennsulcania to Lee County VA. He and his wife are buried on this property.
Their grave markers are called Bromlicks which was made in this era.
This property was once an Indian Villege,Algonquin by name.
He was married to Elizabeth on Mar 10 1784.
