32. David ARNETT(58)
died on Sep 12 1825. He was born Jan 6 1735 or1755. The earliest
Arnett to move into what is now Bell Co., KY were David Arnett, b. Jan. 6, 1735
or 1755 Sept 12, 1825 and his wife Letitia, b. ca1740; d.? after 1830 census.
David's birth and death dates were copied from an old Bible many years
ago by Mary Jane Green(1883-1977), a descendant of James and Nancy Green. This
information was passed on to her great neice, Sandra Cleek. Letitia's age is
computed fron census records-if she was the elderly female living with the James
Green family in the 1820 and 1830 census, as some have suggested.
David Arnett paid taxes in Knox County from 1801-1811 when he was declared
tax exempt status suggest he would have been 60 years old in 1811. David was
granted 163 acres on the Cumberland River in 1806, according to the Knox count
records. It is likely that this lan we near Balkan, KY. David and James Green
jointly purchased 180 acres of land in 1814; and in 1818, David Arnett sold his
half to James Green. David signed his named and Letitia madde her mark. It
is not known how David disposed of the 163 acres grant.
